Research On The Impact Of Multidimensional Proximity On Patent Cooperation Among Domestic Institutions

Inter-agency patent cooperation plays an important role in the development process of technological innovation.At home and abroad,various studies have been conducted on the activities of patent cooperation among institutions,among which using multi-dimensional proximity is the main direction in recent years.However,there are still some problems in the existing studies,such as no in-depth interactive analysis of the research data of industry-university-research cooperation between institutions.In this paper,drawing on the five-dimensional proximity analysis framework proposed by Boschma R et al.,With geography,technology,system,organization and social proximity as independent variables influencing patent cooperation between domestic institutions,Taking the co-occurrence frequency of patent cooperation and the citation frequency of patent cooperation as dependent variables,Propose the corresponding research hypotheses,Taking the data of 1,353 pairs of valid utility model patents in the field of medical equipment in China from 2018 to 2022 in the China Patent Information Center system of the State Intellectual Property Office as the research samples,The regression model was built in deep analysis using OLS regression and binary logistics regression.Through the five dimensions of geographical proximity,technology,proximity,system,proximity,organization,proximity,and society and proximity,the influence of patent co-occurrence frequency and patent citation frequency of cooperation between domestic institutions is studied from two aspects of single and interaction.The results of this study show that,In terms of a single proximity,Geographical proximity has a positive impact on the co-occurrence frequency of patent cooperation among domestic institution.However,it has a negative impact on the frequency of domestic cooperation between institutions;Technology proximity has a significant positive impact on the co-occurrence frequency of patent cooperation between domestic institutions.However,it has a negative impact on the frequency of domestic cooperation between institutions;Institutional proximity has a positive impact on the co-occurrence frequency of patent cooperation between domestic institutions and the frequency of patent cooperation between domestic institutions;Organizational proximity has a significant positive impact on the frequency of co-occurrence of patent cooperation among domestic institutions,It has a positive impact on the frequency of patent citation of cooperation between domestic institutions;Social proximity has a negative impact on the frequency of patent cooperation between domestic institutions,However,it has a positive impact on the frequency of domestic institutions.In terms of multi-dimensional proximity interaction,the interaction between geographical proximity and institutional proximity,geographical proximity and social proximity and social proximity has a significant positive impact on the frequency of patent citation between domestic institutions and a positive impact on the frequency of co-occurrence of patent cooperation among domestic institutions;and institutional proximity has no impact on the frequency of patent citation of cooperation between institutions,but has a significant positive impact on the frequency of co-occurrence of patent cooperation between institutions.Based on the above research results,the following enlightenment is given for the promotion of patent cooperation among domestic institutions: breaking through the geographical restrictions,promoting the in-depth cooperation of all parties;clarifying the new mode of diversified patent cooperation;strengthening the diversified cooperation integration of patent research and development,and establishing the evaluation method of innovation quality.
