| Globalization continues to strengthen ties between countries, advancing the sharing and transfer of resources and technologies while also introducing new competition and challenges. In the context of open competition, enterprises must acquire external heterogeneous resources to enhance their innovation capabilities in order to gain a competitive advantage.Intellectual property rights have grown in importance as a key component of national technological development and international competition,as well as a key to promoting the development of technological innovation.Current studies on innovation performance from the perspective of patent networks tend to focus on the impact of a single variable on innovation performance and do not take into account enterprise heterogeneity. Therefore,in this paper,we first examine the patent application situation, the overall situation of the cooperation network, and the network’s evolution from a macro perspective for the listed enterprises on the STAR Market.Second, the cooperation network of STARM-listed enterprises has characteristics that can be used to classify enterprise cooperation modes.Next,an empirical study is conducted to investigate the impact of cooperation and different cooperation modes on the innovation performance of STARM-listed enterprises from a medium perspective. At last,as moderating variables, cooperation diversity and cooperation stability are introduced to investigate the specific effects of network indicators on innovation performance from a micro perspective.Furthermore, this paper investigates the differences in empirical results of different lifecycle and industry firms from the standpoint of heterogeneity. It is discovered that patent cooperation among STARM-listed enterprises can boost a company’s innovation performance;from the mode of cooperation,utilization-based and close patent cooperation networks with high cooperation depth can have a positive impact on a company’s innovation performance;from the network indicators, degree centrality, betweenness centrality, and structural hole effective size characteristics can have a positive impact on a company’s innovation performance;clustering,on the other hand, has a negative impact on innovation performance. Moreover, when controlling for the breadth of cooperation, the positive effects of betweenness centrality and structural hole effective size become more pronounced as the stability of cooperation increases, while when controlling for the depth of cooperation, the inhibitory effect of the clustering coefficient intensifies as the diversity of cooperation increases. The heterogeneity analysis also reveals that non-digital economy industries and network features are more likely to have an impact on the innovation performance of STARMlisted firms. Finally, this paper offers suggestions from the government and enterprise perspectives, based on the research findings,to encourage the development of cooperative networks among STARM-listed enterprises and to assist STARM-listed enterprises in better building and managing their cooperative networks. |
