| Previous researches have shown that the two broadly used trigger method threeelectrode spark switch and trigatron-type spark switch both have the defect of a relatively short working-life for the ablation of the trigger electrode during repetitive operation. In this paper,we described an over-voltage trigger method for two-electrode spark switch, which can greatly improve the operational stability of the Marx generator compared with the self-breakdown mode and avoid the wear of the trigger electrode. The main work includes the following aspects:1.Based on the Spice model and the Jiles-Atherton model, the field-circuit cosimulation model of the inductive trigger method is established and the working principle of the trigger method is verified. The working process is analyzed through the simulation and the solution of the circuit equations.2.Experiments of single trigger module and two-stage trigger module with no-load are carried out,and the experimental results is compared with the simulation and theoretical analysis. The feasibility of the trigger method is confirmed, and the main factors affecting theoutput parameters and the superposition are studied. Finally, the general working mechanism of the trigger method is concluded.3.The trigger method is applied in different Marx generator platforms and experiments are carried out.Experiments shows the trigger method is successful on the triggering of the three-electrode spark switch and the two-electrode spark switch, and is portable between different Marx platforms. For the two-electrode spark switch, experiments of the basic coupling topology, bilateral coupling topology, and multi-stage coupling topology were carried out.The stability of the Marx generator is improved and the jitter of the two-electrode switch is reduced. |
