Abstract/Summary:
High power pulse technology is widely used in national defense scientific research and many other high-tech research fields.Currently,pulse power devices are generally characterized by large volume,heavy weight and complex auxiliary systems.In order to promote the application and development of pulse power technology,the research on miniaturization and compact of pulse power source devices is an important development direction of current high power pulse power technology.It is especially important when the pulse power source device is used in high power microwave application platform.This thesis aims to design a compact pulse source based on PFN-Marx for high power relativistic vacuum devices.The device uses ceramic capacitors as energy storage components,copper strips as connecting inductors,and gas switches as circuit connecting switches to realize parallel charging and series discharge through PFN-Marx circuit connection.The resulting high voltage pulse drives the relativistic vacuum device to produce high power microwave.1.Firstly,the basic principle of PFN-Marx pulse generation based on pulse forming and voltage doubling is analyzed,and the charging and discharging process of singlestage PFN network is deduced theoretically.The width and amplitude characteristics of output pulse on matched load are obtained,which are closely related to the capacitance,inductance and charging voltage of PFN unit.2.By simulating the electrostatic field models of different types of switches,the switching breakdown characteristics were analyzed.It is found that the self-breakdown electrode formed by the combination of cylindrical flat ball electrode and hemispherical electrode is most suitable for the requirements of high power and fast rising front.At the same time,in order to accurately control the trigger timing of the pulse power installation,the trigger needle is inserted in the center of the cylindrical flat ball electrode as the external trigger electrode for the whole pulse power source,so as to realize the synchronous trigger requirement of multi-level Marx circuit.3.The circuit model of PFN-Marx pulse power source based on multi-node cascade is mainly designed to further optimize the output characteristics of high-power pulse source considering practical application.In order to compact the pulse power source structure,the zigzag structure is used to arrange PFN units at all levels to realize the miniaturization design of the device.4.In order to verify the feasibility of the design scheme,considering the laboratory conditions,this thesis adopts the same design principle to realize the 5-stage PFN-Marx pulse power source,so as to economically verify the high-power pulse power source design scheme for conventional relativistic vacuum devices,and lay the foundation for the practical research of compact pulse power application system.
