| Nowadays,artificial intelligence technology is developing rapidly and the new generation of artificial intelligence,represented by deep learning,has not only become a hot topic in today’s competitive environment,but also has a profound impact on social change and public life.As the media is an important source of information for the public,the framework of AI coverage presented by the media directly influences the public’s perception,psychological attitude and value judgement on this profound technological issue.As a large authoritative media on science and technology,Science and Technology Daily,directly led by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology(CAST),has strong persuasive power and credibility in reporting on AI issues in the field of science and technology,and the news information it reports has profound practical significance.Therefore,this paper takes the news coverage of AI issues in Science and Technology Daily as the research object,and selects the news coverage of AI issues in Science and Technology Daily for the five years from 2017 to 2021 as the research sample,and applies the framework theory to study the framework construction,characteristics and value embodiment of the news coverage of AI issues,and accordingly reflects on the shortcomings in the media coverage of this issue,and then proposes The study found that the Artificial Intelligence Daily had been reported on by the media.The study finds that the number of articles,topics and rhetorical techniques used in the news coverage of AI issues in Science and Technology Daily are distinctive.The general characteristics of the number of articles on AI issues are that the total number of articles fluctuates upwards and downwards,and the changes are directly related to policy announcements;the topics of the articles focus on highlighting the practice of AI in various fields;the genres of the articles are mainly newsletters and news reports;the information sources of the articles are mostly authoritative institutions and experts and scholars;the overall tendency of the articles is mostly positive;and the use of rhetorical techniques in the process of reporting creates a vivid context.The rhetorical techniques used in the reporting process create a vivid context;the headlines are flexible and structured to show the diversity of reporting.In exploring the value of the framework for reporting on AI issues in Science and Technology Daily,three aspects of social life,ideology and education,and technology ethics are analyzed respectively.At the same time,there are shortcomings in the coverage of AI issues in Science and Technology Daily: the coverage of the issues is more professional and lacks popular presentation;there are more positive praise reports;and there is a lack of risky coverage.Therefore,Science and Technology Daily should increase the readability of its coverage of AI issues,use easy-to-understand language to explain the terminology,uphold objectivity in its reporting,maintain a prudent attitude,pave the way for subsequent research work,and improve the ecological environment of AI issue coverage. |
