Abstract/Summary:
The outstanding Chinese classics are the achievements of countless sages,recording the long history and cultural spirit of the Chinese nation.China in the Classics is a unique cultural TV variety show created by CCTV.The program attaches importance to the cultural connotations of the classics and uses a variety of Interaction Rituals such as stage sets,storytelling performances,character’s time-travels and expert interviews to enhance the richness of the program’s content and the audience’s immersive experience.The 11 episodes of the program introduce 11 Chinese classics with diverse design and subtle performances,striking the responsive chord of Chinese culture with the audience.This thesis takes the program China in the Classics as the research object,and uses the Interaction Ritual Chains proposed by Randall Collins as the research theory to analyze the micro-situational communication and macro-situational communication of the program,then to analyze the emotional energy and cultural identity of the audience.This thesis combines China in the Classics with the Interaction Ritual model,and proposes a new research model: the Interaction Ritual communication model for China in the Classics.The model contains four parts: the communication events of the Interaction Rituals,the communication content of micro-situational Interaction Rituals,the communication strategy of macro-situational Interaction Rituals and the communication effect of macro-situation Interaction Rituals.Based on the research model,this thesis focuses on four aspects.In the communication events of the Interaction Rituals,this thesis focuses on the prerequisites of Interaction Rituals,the selections of communication events,the Interaction Rituals of the program team and the lead actors.In the communication content of micro-situational Interaction Rituals,this thesis explores the connotation of micro-situational Interaction Rituals,main character story Interaction Rituals,classics story Interaction Rituals,and heritage story Interaction Rituals.In the communication strategy of macro-situational Interaction Rituals,this thesis analyzes the concept of macro-situational Interaction Rituals,the stage design in macro-situation,the focus of macro-situational Interaction Rituals and the communication platforms of macro-situational Interaction Rituals.In the communication effect of macro-situational Interaction Rituals,this thesis discusses the dissemination effect of CCTV,the communication effect of online platforms,the communication effect of social platforms and the emotional energy of Chinese cultural identity.Finally,combined with the study of China in the Classics,this thesis proposes the inspiration for the communication of cultural TV variety shows.Taking the communication of micro-situational Interaction Rituals and macro-situational Interaction Rituals as the guide,this thesis raises suggestions as follow: cultural TV variety shows should grasp the cultural values of the program,pay attention to the emotional stimulation of the program,expand the breadth of interactive perspectives,encourage unofficial communication channels,and enhance the real-time linkage of multiple platforms to help promote the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.
