Using “body” As A Medium: A Study Of Body Narrative In Online Live Broadcast

From the real presence of the body in the oral stage to the absence of the body in the written period and then back to the virtual presence of the body in the new media period,there is an inseparable and close relationship between the body and the media.According to this paper,live webcasting has realize the "visual socialization" of the body by virtue of the characteristics of digital images,and the body has become the main carrier for the anchor to carry information and image expression.However,due to the low entry threshold of the industry and the immaturity of relevant laws and regulations,live webcasting only pursues the rate of flow and ignores the quality of the body narration,resulting in frequent narrative chaos.How to correctly play the narrative function of the body in the live broadcast room has become an urgent problem to be solved.This paper takes the pan-entertainment live broadcast in Tik Tok APP as the research object.From the perspective of narratology,it breaks through the previous discussion of narratology in the fields of film and television variety works,and divides the study of body narration in live broadcast into three aspects: the body as a medium,audio-visual elements,and narrative means.Case analysis,participatory observation and text analysis are used to study the functions,elements and skills of anchors’ body narration,summarize how bodies convey information as media in network live broadcast,and point out the shortcomings and improvement directions of body narration at the present stage,in order to provide the direction of change for main broadcast narration and build a good ecological environment for network broadcast.The study founds that anchors narrate the body that meets the audience’s aesthetic trend and emotional preference through language and text,clothing and makeup,space construction and interface design,etc.,and convey the symbolic meaning and emotional value of the body.They also used multiple narrative perspectives,explicit narrative subjects and wonderful narrative plots to assist the body narration in the live broadcast room to the greatest extent,in order to acquire attention resources and ultimately realize traffic realization.However,the improper body narrative mode leads to the irrational content of bullet screen and the non-standard behavior of anchors in the live broadcast room.The out-of-focus disorder of body narrative can be coordinated and regulated from both the narrative subject and the external environment.
