In recent years, the dissemination practice of public archaeology has developed rapidly with the development of new media technology.Archaeological live broadcast not only achieves high-speed and high-definition transmission, but also presents new features different from the era of mass media in its editing and narration. It has driven waves of archaeological fever with the characteristics of authenticity, immersion and interaction, allowing more people to participate in archaeological practice, thus promoting the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, and also reflecting the more possibilities that archaeological live broadcast brings to public archaeology in the era of new media. From the perspective of archaeological live broadcast narrative, this paper analyzes the live broadcast of the "Sanxingdui Archaeological Excavation",a major global archaeological event in 2021-the "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series produced by China Central Radio and Television, and focuses on the rise and evolution of archaeological live broadcast,as well as the narrative strategies and laws of public archaeology under the new media environment,It is expected to bring more thoughts to the public archaeological live broadcast and practice in the new media era. This article is divided into six chapters altogether. The introduction part mainly describes the background and significance of the topic, combs the theoretical framework around the relevant theories of narratology, and combs the works and research achievements of many domestic and foreign scholars around "public archaeology" and "live narration".The second chapter focuses on the rise and evolution of archaeological live broadcasting.Focusing on the analysis of how the long-term professional and unpopular archaeological program, driven by the dual drive of culture and media technology, has moved to the network archaeological live broadcast with the broad participation of the public. The fundamental reason lies in the change of the communication structure under the development of media technology, the characteristics of the network structure of the archaeological live broadcast narrative and the corresponding changes of the communication text. The active participation of the audience in cultural production makes the significance of the communication activities more acceptable,The research case in this paper was born in such a communication environment, reflecting the characteristics of online narration, and is a typical sample of archaeological live broadcast research. The third chapter analyzes the narrative text of CCTV’s "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series live broadcast and its "production" characteristics. The fourth chapter uses the theories of narratology, semiotics and communication to explore the five narrative strategies of CCTV’s "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series of archaeological live broadcast discourse narrative, interactive narrative, symbolic narrative, scene narrative and suspense narrative. The fifth chapter further discusses the narrative significance of CCTV’s "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series of archaeological live broadcast.CCTV’s "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series of archaeological live broadcast has achieved meaning construction through juxtaposition narrative strategy from four aspects: multiple co-existence,visual construction, cultural self-confidence,and collective memory, breaking the barrier between the public and archaeology, and strengthening the communication power and audience participation of public archaeology. The last chapter summarizes the current deficiencies of CCTV’s "Sanxingdui New Discovery" series of archaeological live broadcasts in terms of dissemination content and audience perception, and puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions from the perspective of archaeological topics and expression methods.
