With the development of technology,the speed of information transmission is increasing day by day.The traditional closed and independent innovation mode can no longer meet the requirements of the current era,and open innovation is widely accepted.Guided by the theory of open innovation,open innovation communities have become important channels and innovation platforms for obtaining product evaluations and collecting user feedback,and research on open innovation communities is gradually unfolding.In the field of industrial product design,there are a large number of design ideas and product prototypes from open innovation communities.Projects that truly change people’s lives,such as quadcopters,3D printers,and open source program algorithms,were initially just small ideas and inspirations in open innovation communities.Research on open innovation communities can effectively promote the generation and development of innovative projects.The community is composed of individual users,and the innovative behaviors of each user constitute the innovative results of the entire community.The Foraging Behavior Model is a theoretical model that studies and explains human behavior.Therefore,this article hopes to use the Foraging Behavior Model to analyze and promote innovative behaviors in open innovation communities,and then accelerate the progress of innovative projects in the community.The research object of this article is the open source hardware community in open innovation communities,and based on the Foraging Behavior Model,the article provides innovative strategies for the desktop culture community.In this study,the foundation of the establishment of open innovation communities was first clarified,including the theory of open innovation and related innovation theories for user participation in corporate innovation;the components of open innovation communities and the sources of innovation motivation for community members.Secondly,the basic concepts and behavioral influencing factors of the Foraging Behavior Model were expounded,the current application scenarios and methods of the Foraging Behavior Model were sorted out,and the feasibility of applying the Foraging Behavior Model to open innovation community design was analyzed.Thirdly,based on the research results of the previous section,ten participants in the open innovation community were interviewed,and the influencing factors of innovation in the community were analyzed based on the interview content.Based on the influencing factors,a research questionnaire was designed to analyze the weight of the influencing factors,and design strategies were given based on the weight in the guidance of the Foraging Behavior Model.Finally,guided by the design strategy,a hardware open source community with the theme of desktop culture was designed,and the design results were verified.Through this research,with the goal of stimulating users’ innovative activities in open innovation communities,this article applies the Foraging Behavior Model to the design of open innovation communities,hoping to enhance the innovation vitality of the community and provide new possibilities for the design and application of open innovation communities and the Foraging Behavior Model.
