The popularity of metaverse has sparked lively discussions in many industries and has attracted the attention of the libraries.From the beginning of the Internet to Web3.0,libraries have been keeping up with the development of the information society,actively exploring the integration of core business and emerging information technology,and continuously optimizing knowledge and reading services.The current metaverse is also a development opportunity that libraries cannot ignore.The article focused on researching and summarizing the current status of the development of metaverse virtual services in libraries at home and abroad,analyzed the existing problems and their causes,and proposed development and optimization strategies based on them.After sorting out the basic theoretical contents such as the concept,characteristics,value chain and key technologies of metaverse,this paper summarized the domestic and international literature in terms of theoretical correlations,development impacts,empirical studies and application scenarios envisioned for library metaverse.On this basis,this paper used web research,literature research,case study and comparative analysis to conduct an in-depth study on the current situation of metaverse virtual services in 36 public libraries and university libraries at home and abroad.It is found that the existing library virtual services mainly include five aspects: virtual roaming tour,VR/AR exhibition experience and creative space,virtualized reading,visualization search and intelligent bookshelf,and virtual intelligent consultation;however,there were problems such as insufficient integration of virtual services and business,lack of unified platform and standard,and insufficient technical depth and reserve.This paper then proposed development and optimization strategies based on the research and analysis results.This study summarized the construction system of library metaverse virtual services from the top-level system and standards,as well as the basic resource layer,key support layer,content creation layer,and interactive application layer,and summarized the future development directions of virtual AI librarians,virtual platforms and social spaces.At the same time,from the perspective of realization path,we proposed optimization strategies for resource and space construction,technology and equipment selection,and evaluation and feedback mechanisms.It is expected that libraries can provide continuous,stable and high-quality immersive experiences for readers with the help of metaverse-related technologies. |
