| To realize effective governance of rural society is an important goal of rural revitalization strategy.Left-behind villages are facing a series of governance problems as typical village forms in underdeveloped areas in central and western China. However, the academic circles still focus on the traditional governance resources of left-behind villages, failing to capture the new changes and characteristics of governance environment after the Modern media enters the countryside. From the perspective of media, this paper adopts the method of field investigation to focus on a left-behind village in Guangxi, and studies the use of media in its daily governance process, analyzes how the governing body uses media, and regulates and allocates the village’s information resources, material resources and relationship resources,on this basis, what effect did the media play.In this paper, media objects are determined as village wechat group and loudspeaker based on the media use of villages.Specifically, the influence of the media use of governance subjects on the governance of left-behind villages is presented in three aspects: "information knowledge","organization mobilization" and "emotional connection".At the level of "information awareness",the governing body takes wechat group as a normal information dissemination platform, breaking the dilemma of information segmentation. However, the use of wechat group needs to be combined with the interpersonal communication mode in the village public space to form a complete information transmission chain. In terms of "organizational mobilization","wechat group" and "loudspeaker" have contributed to the formation of the necessary "leadership core" for mobilization. With the help of wechat groups, opinions from both inside and outside the village form a synergy. In offline mobilization activities, village cadres "carefully use" the loudspeaker, giving full play to the mobilizing effect of the loudspeaker in the village. At the level of "emotional connection",wechat group has become a new space for villagers to maintain contact and rebuild relationships, which promotes emotional connection among villagers.Village cadres use loudspeakers to play music at specific times, creating new ritual activities that promote emotional connection at the village level. In general,in the daily governance of villages,New media and traditional media show different technical characteristics and are interconnected and complementary to each other. They play multiple roles, such as information transmission channel, opinion generation field, offline mobilization means and meaning space of emotional connection, driving the formation of new governance environment. However, the key to the relationship between media and rural governance lies in the application of media rather than the characteristics of media itself. Therefore governance subjects need to make good use of media in order to fully explore the governance utility of media. |
