| As a large country with strong comprehensive strength,China not only has a long and splendid cultural history, but also has a profound influence in the world trend. With the increasing richness of material life, people have begun to pay more attention to the pursuit of spiritual needs.According to the Tourism Development Plan of the 14 th Five-Year Plan issued by the State Council in 2021,China has entered the times of mass tourism, and people’s demand for tourism consumption has changed from low-level to high-quality and diversified, and from focusing on sightseeing to taking into account sightseeing and leisure vacation.Mass tourism travel and consumption preferences have changed profoundly, and the integration of online and offline tourism products and services has accelerated.Along with the rapid development of network technology, tourism has become more and more new vitality. As a spiritual and cultural product, the publication of travel books is closely related to the activity of tourism. In the Internet times, travelogue books have a certain audience with their personalized attributes.Although the selection of travelogue books has tended to decrease in recent years, there are still some representative books that are worth further research and analysis. This paper is divided into five parts to analyze and study the publication of travelogue books in the Internet times. The first part is an introduction, which composes the relevant literature and defines the concepts of "travelogue books" and "network times".Among them, travelogue books refer to publications that record what travelers see and hear, combining the introduction of field attractions, local customs, humanities and history with the expression of personal feelings. The Internet times refers to the web 2.0 times, which started in 2005 with blogs,to the mobile Internet times. The second part compares the development history of travelogue book publishing in the Internet times, and focuses on screening travelogue books on Dangdang.com and Jingdong.com as sample data, analyzing their publishing status in terms of selected content, publishing quantity, publishing institutions, author selection, travelogue purpose, reader feedback quantity, and marketing channels,i.e.,the selected content is diversified, the publishing quantity is steadily decreasing;the author selection space is flexible, and the travelogue purpose tends to be spontaneous freedom;the head publishing institution is strong, and the literary category is emerging;the number of readers’ feedback is polarized, and the influence of KOL is gradually rising;the marketing channels are mainly online and gradually integrated with offline, and then summarize the publishing characteristics of travelogue books in the network times, namely, convertibility and interactive. It also points out the impact of the Internet times on the publication of travelogues, mainly the rise of online travelogues and the decline of "running books";instant feedback from readers and the dominance of two-way communication;and the multiplicity of publishing formats and the prevalence of e-books and audiobooks. In the third part, three typical travelogue books are selected as cases, and the four perspectives of selection content, binding design, marketing methods and readers’ feedback are compared and analyzed, and it is concluded that they have gained a considerable number of positive comments, mainly because the selection content has distinctive attributes, the binding design always stands in the readers’ perspective and considers with care, and the marketing methods are adapted to the characteristics of the books, and the readers’ feedback is analyzed by Octopus collector. The frequency analysis of keywords from readers’ feedback through Octopus collector reveals that author, logistics, price and added value are the key areas of readers’ concern. The fourth part, through the previous analysis and research, summarizes the publishing dilemmas that exist in travelogue books in the network times, namely, the lack of obvious differentiation in the content of selected topics, the imbalance in the knowledge and interest of content, the low motivation of professional authors to create, the weak creative writing of non-professional authors, the short duration of readers’ reading, the lower-than-expected effect of readers’ feedback, the lack of targeting in online publicity, and the weak awareness of brand marketing. The fifth part proposes corresponding countermeasures for the existing dilemmas,i.e.,refining the content of selected topics, combining knowledge and fun, encouraging professional authors to actively engage in creative work, developing the textual literacy of non-professional writers, broadening readers’ reading services, improving readers’ feedback mechanism, exploring suitable publicity channels for books, and creating precisely positioned private brands. |
