The real world is embodied as a kind of picture shown by the media,leveraging the dissemination advantages of visual images in the spectacle society.Online comprehensive programs and capital conspire to bring hidden emotions onto the screen,redrawing the emotional schema of young people today.This study takes the love observation reality show "Heart Signals" as a case study,adopting a research method mainly based on text analysis and supplemented by in-depth interviews.From the perspective of spectacle society theory,it focuses on the construction logic and consumption circulation in the love observation reality show.By analyzing the media spectacle presentation of emerging marriage and love programs,we explore how mimetic texts gradually guide audiences to follow the lifestyle of consumer society,cater to formatted aesthetic standards,and ultimately be dominated by the spectacle.At the same time,the research hopes to provide theoretical support for the research of programs related to spectacle society,and also form practical inspiration for the development of marriage issues in television texts.This study defines "love observation reality shows" as a new form of marriage and love programs born in the era of social media,which is a local result of the transformation of television production and the development of media emotional consumption.The program text presents characteristics such as authenticity,immersion,and interactivity.This study found that:In the context of fast-paced updates and fierce competition in the media market,love observation reality shows establish a recognizable text framework with their unique characters,narratives,and audio-visual spectacle,completing the imitation of love scenes from three aspects:character coding,narrative style,and audio-visual symbols.The program encodes love images into aesthetic and symbolic sweet spectacle,in order to stimulate the audience’s visual pleasure.In the process of realizing love compensation,mirror recognition,and experiential learning,the audience gradually completes the consumption of the media spectacle.Finally,combining the critical perspective of consumer society,this study found that in the production and consumption stages of reality TV programs,both program participants and consumers experience negative phenomena such as consumption alienation and emotional alienation.Viewers gradually shift from mere bystanders to sensory practitioners and emotional consumers,guided by the spectacle into the trap of consumerism,which in turn affects their daily life practices.Looking at program production from a realistic perspective,as a media spectacle jointly created by media,capital,and the internet,love observation reality shows still have many drawbacks such as role patterning,homogenization of programs,and excessive commercial implantation.We need to approach them rationally.
