Ancestral Halls As Media: A Study On The Media Properties And Functions Of The Huishan Ancestral Hall Group

The ancestral hall is the main place where clans worship their ancestors and ancestors.As the largest preserved ancient architectural group in China,the ancestral hall has left many precious historical and cultural resources to future generations,which is a great creation of the Chinese nation for thousands of years and an important symbol of the deep connotation of Chinese traditional culture.It records the glory and traditions of one clan after another,brings together the customs and customs,organizational system,legal consensus,culture and education of the clan,and forms a unique ancestral hall culture in China.Between home and country,the ancestral hall also plays a particularly important role as a link,and the concept of home and country between small families and big countries has inspired countless Chinese sons and daughters to persist in forging ahead on the road of national rejuvenation.It can be seen that the ancient ancestral hall and its ancestral hall culture that adhere to and practice the beliefs of the family and country are like a microcosm of Chinese traditional culture,not only the foundation of spiritual inheritance,but also an important part of Chinese culture.From the perspective of communication and media studies,this paper takes the Huishan ancestral hall group as the object,uses case analysis method,participatory observation method and interview method to explore the ancestral hall as a medium,studies the media attributes and media functions of the Huishan ancestral hall group,and considers the media of the Huishan ancestral hall group in contemporary communication,aiming to put forward the importance and necessity of ancestral hall media research and the dissemination of ancestral hall culture.The first chapter expounds the overview and uniqueness of the Huishan ancestral hall group,traces the historical evolution,and shows its characteristics such as the spatial layout of land and water,the dense community form in the city,and the rich and comprehensive ancestral hall types.In the second chapter,based on media theory,field research and interview results,this paper analyzes the media attributes of the Huishan ancestral hall group,explores its communication factors,and points out that the Huishan ancestral hall group is a medium for official political rule,a medium for communication between people and gods and ancestors,a medium for cultural inheritance,and a mass media for quasi-mass media.In the third chapter,based on the media attributes of the Huishan ancestral hall group,the media function of the Huishan ancestral hall group is continued,and the four functions of political communication,social education,cultural communication,and leisure and entertainment are summarized through cases and interviews about typical ancestral halls and festival activities.Chapter 4 puts the media of Huishan ancestral hall group into the context of modern society and the new era to think,highlights its practical turn,puts forward the traditional ideological and cultural issues that need attention in communication practice,shows its communication value in terms of spiritual belonging,social integration,economic development,cultural inheritance,etc.,highlights the historical and practical significance of studying ancestral hall media and disseminating ancestral hall culture,and lays a foundation for the discussion and solution of subsequent communication and inheritance problems.
