Abstract/Summary:
Since the outbreak of New Crown Pneumonia, news media have played a key role in information dissemination, risk early warning and rallying calls.Among them, local media have played an important role in local epidemic reporting because of their geographical proximity. In July,2021,an epidemic broke out in Yangzhou City, and Yangzhou Daily responded quickly and reported the epidemic in time. The theoretical analysis of its framework is helpful to better see the construction framework of media reports, and then help the media to achieve higher quality public opinion guidance. Therefore, this study focuses on the analysis of the epidemic reporting framework constructed by Yangzhou Daily.Based on the frame theory and narratology theory, this study makes a frame analysis of 983 "Yangzhou Epidemic" reports produced by Yangzhou Daily from July 28,2021 to September 9,2021 through literature research, content analysis and in-depth interviews. On this basis, from the perspective of audience acceptance,it explores the successful practice and presentation problems of the epidemic reporting framework, and puts forward suggestions for optimization. The details are as follows:The first chapter is the content analysis and design of Yangzhou Daily’s "Yangzhou Epidemic" report. This paper mainly expounds the theoretical basis, sample selection, research design and category construction under the framework theory, and establishes a targeted research foundation for the framework analysis. The second chapter is the high-level framework content analysis of Yangzhou Daily’s"Yangzhou Epidemic" report. It is analyzed from three dimensions:reporting topic, reporting theme framework and reporting tendency. It is considered that there are reporting topics that highlight epidemic prevention policies and measures, reporting theme framework with human feelings and reporting tendency dominated by positive reports in high-level reporting framework. The third chapter is the content analysis of the middle-level framework of Yangzhou Daily’s "Yangzhou Epidemic" report. It is mainly analyzed from three dimensions:the nature of reported events, the structure of news reports and the narrative perspective of reports. It is believed that the nature of reported events focuses on the main events, the impact and results and the evaluation of main events, and the reporting structure is linear, radial and contractive, while the narrative perspective reflects that the external focus is mostly narrative, the single perspective is rare and the first-person witness perspective is dominant. The fourth chapter is the content analysis of the low-level framework of Yangzhou Daily’s "Yangzhou Epidemic" report. It is mainly analyzed from three dimensions:word frequency, rhetorical features and discourse practice. It is believed that people’s livelihood vocabulary, group nouns and action verbs appear frequently in the report text, which embodies the rhetorical features of suggestive rhetoric and persuasive rhetoric.Discourse practice is carried out from the perspectives of speech act, text coherence and text intertextuality. The fifth chapter is the problems and optimization of the reporting framework of"Yangzhou Epidemic" from the perspective of audience acceptance. This paper mainly discusses the successful practice, main problems and optimization strategies of the reporting framework, and holds that the framework construction has the advantages of highlighting the advanced nature of the party newspaper, presenting diversified perspectives and close language, but there are some problems such as over-generalization of reporting topics, improper handling of negative reports and blind spots in reporting perspectives. This study believes that the optimization of the reporting framework can be achieved by dividing the reporting topic, presenting the existing problems in the reporting topic and enhancing the depth and breadth of the reporting perspective.
