A Study On The Expression Of "The Rejuvenation Of The Chinese Nation" In The Editorial Of People’s Daily

To seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation has been the original aspiration and mission of the CPC over the past century.The 18th CPC National Congress ushered in a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and the CPC led the Chinese people into a new stage in the journey of "great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation".China’s mainstream media plays the role of "the mouthpiece of the eyes and ears of the Party and the people",and the discourse of "the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation" with the attribute of official discourse has become one of the important discourses of the mainstream media.The practical dimension of the discourse text of the People’s Daily editorial on the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is constructed through the discourse of road,confidence and value.The Chinese national rejuvenation discourse calls for rejuvenation actions in four directions:socialist modernization,deepening reform,law-based governance and strict party governance.Confidence discourse is based on the cultural spirit,historical achievement and system path of three aspects of the achievement display,with the confidence of the Chinese national rejuvenation;The value of Chinese national rejuvenation discourse includes two aspects:world value and Chinese value.In addition,this paper also discusses the Chinese national rejuvenation for the world’s road reference,the value of China and the world,and then discusses the broadening of the value range of the Chinese national rejuvenation discourse.From the above discourse patterns of Chinese national rejuvenation,the discourse of Chinese national rejuvenation follows the underlying logic of four communities:economic interests,national spirit,historical destiny and legal norms.The discourse practice dimension of the People’s Daily editorial discourse on the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation uses four discourse rhetoric modes,namely,intertextual rhetoric,metaphor rhetoric,example comparison and slogan rhetoric,to highlight the adherence to the party spirit and the people spirit,and then construct the shared cultural image of the Chinese nation,activate the national memory and gather the rejuvenation power.In the interpretation of the discourse of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,it carries on the social practice based on the connotation of the rejuvenation,the causal connection of the rejuvenation and the promotion of mainstream values.The social practice dimension of the discourse of rejuvenation reveals that the discourse of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is based on the environment of opportunities and challenges in China,based on the highest interests of the Chinese nation,and focuses on the new changes in society.In the process of social practice,the discourse of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation practices the function of social mobilization through three steps:the audience’s value concept,identity construction and action mobilization.In terms of text meaning,discourse production and social practice,the editorial of People’s Daily realizes the connection between the picture,route and action of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,highlights the support of historical spirit and culture,and strengthens the linkage between China and the world.It reflects the innovation and epochal nature of the discourse production of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and provides a reference for other media.
