The image of a city is an crucial part of the urban competition,and it is also a key element to enhance the city’s soft power and core competitiveness.In the process of urban development,having a complete and good image of the city plays an important part in promoting the attractiveness of this city.Jinchang is China’s "Nickel Capital".It was established by an enterprise.Since its establishment,the city has grown rapidly.With its unique nickel resource advantages,it integrates the image of an enterprise and a city to create a harmonious communication environment.Nickel has a wide range of applications in China and even internationally,it is closely related to people’s lives.It is often used in the production of stainless steel and various alloys.Nickel alloy is not only an important material for electric furnaces,electric soldering irons and other electrical appliances and medical equipment,but also used to produce nickel-chromium,nickel-hydrogen batteries,which has a great impact on China’s national economy and people’s livelihood.Jinchang is the largest nickel production base in China,and nickel has become the carrier of its image dissemination.It uses objects as a means of communication to build Jinchang’s exclusive urban symbol and form a unique urban competitiveness.Based on the analysis of the current situation of city image dissemination in Jinchang,this paper studies the advantages and disadvantages of the entire city image dissemination process by means of inductive summary,questionnaire survey and content analysis.Jinchang needs to overcome the problems of lack of personality in city image building,the separation of city image cognition and communication effect,insufficient sustainability of city image communication,and lack of audiences’ sense of identity and belonging;use the city’s advantages to build a recognizable new image,show the city’s new stories,change the traditional content of communication,add the deep memory points of the city.Adopt diversified and multi-level communication methods to spread the image of the city and promote the development of the city.Combined with the pros and cons of the present city image.This paper discusses the construction and dissemination strategies of Jinchang city image,in order to provide some reference suggestions for the image dissemination of resource-based cities and other similar cities.
