The Paper Rural Revitalization Report Agenda Setting Research

Since the founding of New China,China has been putting the "three rural issues" on its agenda.However,with the development of urbanization in China,the gap between urban and rural areas has become increasingly apparent,and the dualistic structure between urban and rural areas has gradually come to the fore,with various social problems such as "empty nesting" and many left-behind children in rural areas.Revitalization" strategy.This is the third leap in solving the "three rural issues" after the construction of new countryside and beautiful countryside and it is a systematic sublimation.The focus of national and social attention is bound to occupy an essential position in news media reports.The mainstream media,represented by People’s Daily,have reported on "rural revitalization" to guide social opinion.This paper takes The Paper as the research object and uses agenda-setting theory as the theoretical basis.Using content analysis and textual analysis,we analyze the original reports on "rural revitalization" by The Paper in terms of the content of agenda setting and the effect of issue setting.Finally,we summarize how The Paper carries out the agenda setting of "rural revitalization" reports.The study also investigates the characteristics and current situation of The Paper’ "rural revitalization" coverage to examine the effect of its agenda setting,find out the problems,and propose reflections and suggestions on The Paper’ "rural revitalization" coverage.The study finds that the agenda of The Paper’ coverage of rural revitalization is more comprehensive,the coverage is relatively concentrated in terms of geographic area,and the number of coverage is increasing year by year.In terms of issue setting,the positive reporting tendency leads social opinion,and the rich textual rhetoric triggers audience empathy and obtains a complete reporting function.Finally,we reflect on the overall coverage,pointing out that it has problems such as issue-heavy,obscured discourse themes,and lack of critical perspectives,and suggesting improvements.
