In order to meet the needs of talents in the new era,the ideological and political curriculum standard for ordinary middle schools(2017 version,revised in 2020)emphasizes the concept of legal ability.High school students are an important force in building socialism with Chinese characteristics.Improving the quality of middle school students’ participation in public life is conducive to enhancing their sense of responsibility,social responsibility and active participation in national political,economic,cultural and social construction.In this regard,among other things,ideological and political courses must be studied to improve the social quality of students.The social participation of middle school students and students mainly includes the following four aspects: public participation,public participation knowledge,public participation opportunities and public participation.The survey of public participation in ideological and political education in senior high schools shows that middle school students have made some progress in improving the quality of participation in ideological and political education,but these problems still exist.For example,the level of public awareness is low,the degree of public participation in knowledge creation is low,the attention to students is not enough,the efficiency of classroom teaching is low,the opportunities for social practice are reduced,and the traditional learning evaluation system is limited.The purpose of analyzing the causes of this problem is to establish a goal framework for the following solutions.In order to solve the problem of the quality of middle school students’ participation in the ideological and political discipline,this paper proposes optimization measures from five aspects: teachers,students,classes,social practice and evaluation system.Second,we must raise students’ awareness of public participation.Third,the curriculum should include improving the quality of students’ participation in public life;Fourth,improve the quality of students’ participation in social practice;Fifth,establish a sound quality evaluation system for public participation,and gradually improve the quality of high school students’ ideological and political participation.
