| As one of the four core qualities of geography discipline,geographic practical ability is a comprehensive reflection of individual’s ability,cognition and character in adapting to the environment.Local geography is closely related to students’ lives and is the most vivid teaching resource in geography teaching.As one of the four main contents of junior middle school geography curriculum,it has been placed in an important position and become a convenient carrier for students to comprehensively understand the region.Related studies have shown that agrestic geography in training students’ geographical practice has the very outstanding advantages,it can not only enrich the teaching content,improve teachers’ teaching level,promote the quality of teaching activities,can also help students develop interest in learning geography,consolidate the basis of geographical knowledge,exercise of social survival skills,improve their comprehensive qualities.At present,there are relatively few researches on the use of local geography to cultivate students’ geographical practice ability in junior middle school.Therefore,this paper carries out a study on the cultivation of junior middle school students’ practical ability of geography by local geography.On the basis of reading a large number of relevant literature,this paper sorted out the research progress of agrestic geography and geographical practice,clarified the main research contents and methods,and determined the relevant concepts and theoretical basis.Under the guidance of "learning by doing" theory,active education thought and constructivism theory,this paper expounds the necessity of combining local geography with the cultivation of geographical practice ability.With the help of questionnaire,this paper investigates teachers and students of four middle schools in Kaifeng city to understand the current situation of using local geography to cultivate students’ geographical practice ability in middle schools in Kaifeng city.The research and analysis found that at present,the role of local geography education in junior middle school in the cultivation of students’ geographical practice ability is insufficient,which is embodied in the following four aspects:(1)Students have a strong interest in local geography practice activities,but have little contact with local geography and geographic practice activities.Local geography has not fully played its role in training students’ practical ability of geography.(2)Students’ action ability in rural geographic practice activities is weak,and they lack active exploration consciousness and correct learning attitude.The overall level of geographical practice ability is relatively low.It is a heavy task for teachers to carry out local geography teaching and geography practice ability training for students.(3)Geography teachers in junior middle schools generally have less development and utilization of local geography and insufficient cognition of geographical practice.The exploration initiative of teachers in rural geography teaching and the cultivation of students’ geographical practice ability is not high.The effect of local geography education and geography practice ability training in teaching is not ideal.(4)The teaching method of rural geography is single,and there are few ways to cultivate students’ practical ability of geography.Under the influence of teaching consciousness and other factors,the willingness to carry out rural geography practice teaching is low.In view of the problems existing in cultivating students’ geographical practice ability in junior middle school local geography teaching,combining with case analysis,this paper puts forward the principles and strategies that should be followed in cultivating students’ geographical practice ability by using local geography,and expounds four training paths in detail under its guidance.The specific contents are as follows :(1)the design of rural geographic practice activities should adhere to the principle of subjectivity,diversity,feasibility principle and discipline principle,so as to ensure the implementation of activities more purposeful and directional.(2)in view of the problems found during the questionnaire to the teachers and students,can promote the enthusiasm of local cognitive between teachers and students,fully arouse the students’ initiative and practice to improve teachers’ teaching skills and teaching consciousness,and build the house,school,social trinity pattern of education strategy in agrestic geography practice teaching,improve students’ geographical practice level.(3)In practical teaching,students’ practical ability of geography can be cultivated through the creation of local problems,the development of geographical simulation experiments,the organization of social investigation activities,the implementation of field trips and other ways.Under the guidance of teaching design,curriculum standards,textbook analysis,learning situation analysis and teaching objectives,specific teaching cases are designed and implemented,and certain teaching effects have been achieved.Students’ geographical practice ability,exploration consciousness,learning initiative and confidence have been improved to a certain extent,and their understanding of local geography of Kaifeng has also been deeper.This paper investigates the present situation of local geography in the cultivation of students’ practical ability of geography in compulsory education.In view of the existing problems,this paper discusses the principles and strategies that should be followed in the cultivation of students’ geographical practice ability under the background of local geography,and carries out the teaching design and implementation according to the characteristics of local geography in Kaifeng city,which has achieved certain effects. |
