| As one of the four core qualities of the geography subject,the practical ability of geography is increasingly concerned by the geography education academy in middle schools.The General High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)(hereinafter referred to as the “new curriculum standard”)requires the creation of real situations to provide students with the opportunity to observe and comprehend the natural geographic environment.The local geographic resources are close and familiar to students and geography teachers actively explore local geographic resources,and carry out practical activities combined with teaching content,which can greatly improve students’ practical ability of geography.This paper taking high school students in Tongren City as the research object,adopts the interview method,questionnaire survey method,field investigation method and action research method to understand the teaching status of the local geographic resources us ed to cultivate students’ geographic practical ability.Combing with the contents of high school textbooks,this paper designs and implements the application cases aiming at cultivating students’ geographical practice ability,tries to explore the teaching value of local geographic resources and improve the level practice ability.The main research conclusions are as follows:First,the status quo survey found that the problems in the teaching process of using local geographic resources to cultivate the practical ability of geography.the existing problems include:(1)Schools do not pay enough attention to the practical teaching and utilization of local geographic resources;(2)Teachers have limited development of rural land resources;(3)The evaluation method of student practice process is single;(4)Students have high enthusiasm in participating in activities but poor performance in practice.The main reasons are:(1)Traditional test-oriented education ideas have not been completely changed;(2)Teachers have insufficient preparation for practical teaching and few practical experiences;(3)Teachers do not pay enough attention to the main position of students in the process of practice;(4)Students have a high degree of interest in the participation of geographic practice activities,but the preparation of practical content is not enough.Second,based on the status quo survey,I designed the principles and implementation links for the cultivation of geographic practical ability.According to the thematic activities combining local geographic resources and high school textbook content,three different types of case activities were implemented to enhance students ’geographic practical ability and quality.Third,from the perspective of geography teachers,I put forward suggestions to develop practical activities based on local geographic resources to cultivate students’ geographic practical ability:(1)The design of practical activity content needs to pay attention to the analysis of students conditions;(2)Refine the design of practical activity process to improve learning effect;(3)Improve the practical qualities of teachers and deepen the understanding of local geographic resources.This paper focuses on the application of local geographical resources in the cultivation of geographical practical ability of high school students.It analyzes the connotation of geographical practice and its close relationship with local geographic resources.Based on the current status of the application of local geographic resources in the cultivation of geographical practice,I designed and implemented practical teaching case activities for geography teachers.Due to the limited research ability of the author,small sample size,the results are limited;the selection of activity cases is not scientific enough.And I hope to continue to improve in the future geography teaching process. |
