With 3×3 basketball officially becoming an Olympic event, the importance of 3×3basketball worldwide has been increasing. It has become an urgent task for researchers in various countries to conduct 3×3 basketball research, guide training, and improve the competitiveness of 3×3 basketball teams. This study focuses on the substitution tactics used by the top four teams in men’s 3×3 basketball at the Tokyo2020 Olympics Games.By exploring the differences in substitution tactics between the world’s top teams during the highest-level international competitions, the timing of substitution tactics, and the correlation between individual and team performance, this study summarizes the characteristics of substitution tactics used by strong teams and proposes suggestions for 3×3 basketball training and competition. This study primarily uses literature review, video analysis, and mathematical statistics as research methods.By analyzing video footage of 28 games,38 groups of data played by the top four teams in men’s 3×3 basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games, the raw data on the timing, frequency, and duration of substitutions made by these teams were compiled. The data on team offensive and defensive ratings, individual shooting efficiency, shooting value, individual value, and highlight moments were also collected and calculated from the official FIBA website.Based on comparative analysis, results are as follows:1)In the use of substitution tactics, the champions and runners-up teams use substitution tactics the most frequently, with an average of more than 18 substitutions per game. The average number of substitutions per game is about82-84 seconds on the court.2)In terms of the use of substitutions in different stages, the champion and runner-up teams used substitutions most frequently in the first and second stages, with an average of more than 8 substitutions per game,1-2 times more than other teams.3)In the selection of the timing of substitution tactics, especially for the champions team, there was a strong negative correlation between the use of substitution tactics and the team’s offensive efficiency and player personal performance. When the team’s offensive efficiency and player personal performance decreased, the champions team tended to choose substitution to improve overall and personal performance.4)In terms of the results of the use of substitution tactics, there was a positive correlation between the use of substitution tactics by the champions team and the personal performance of the players.Based on the above results, the following conclusions are drawn:1)The use of substitution tactics by the top four teams shows typical frequency and intensity characteristics, with an average of 16-18 substitutions per game and each substitution lasting between 82-99 seconds on average.2)The use of substitution tactics by the top four teams shows distinct stage characteristics. The frequency of the use of substitution tactics in the second stage is positively correlated with the athletic performance. In the second stage, substitution tactics were used to preserve the physical strength of athletes and provide a guarantee for maintaining the best physical state under high-intensity confrontation in the third stage.3)The timing of the use of substitution tactics by the top four teams is highly correlated with the team’s offensive efficiency.A decrease in the team’s offensive efficiency and player personal performance is an important opportunity for substitution.4)The use of substitution tactics by the top four teams significantly affects the personal performance of players.Through the reasonable and effective use of substitution tactics, players’ personal performance can be improved, and more personal value can be exerted. |
