The traditional attachment of great importance to physical education in high schools has been a significant part of the teaching experience in our nation.The state has recently issued a series of policy documents to foster the growth of school sports.The objectives are made unmistakably clear in the(2017 Edition)of the freshly created 《Curriculum Standards for Physical Education and Health in General High School.The core physical education literacy’s development necessitates the utilization of primary contents and teaching techniques.For a prolonged period,China’s college entrance exam system has been predisposed to the acquisition of knowledge in the main subjects and the exclusion of physical education in the same.The management of physical education in schools has been neglected,resulting in a lack of attention.The teaching of physical education in high schools has long been a challenge,particularly in terms of its ability to foster core literacy and meet the requirements of students’ development.Nevertheless,numerous issues remain.There is a lack of time allocated to PE lessons,and the phenomenon of main classes "encroaching" on PE lessons is widespread,especially in the senior years.The disparity between the instruction of physical education in senior secondary schools and the cultivation of fundamental literacy among students is,in the main,considerable.This article which is based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences and Constructivism Learning Theory reviews relevant literature both domestically and internationally.Through questionnaire research and structured interviews,it investigates the current implementation status of physical education courses in 18 ordinary high schools in Anyang City.Additionally,it interviews 7 frontline physical education teachers,and deeply analyzes the existing problems in physical education teaching in ordinary high schools in Anyang City which is from the perspective of core competencies.The survey results show that there are still many problems in the current physical education classes of ordinary high schools in Anyang City,which are difficult to meet the core literacy requirements of the curriculum standards.The specific problems are as follows: students’ weak physical exercise habits,the lack of sports abilities,incomplete mastery of sports and health knowledge,and deviation from actual exercise enthusiasm.In response to the above problems,the author analyzes the reasons from multiple aspects such as teaching system,sports environment,teacher level,infrastructure,etc.And propose feasible strategies from the connotation of core competencies to promote the comprehensive development of students and improve the quality of physical education classes in ordinary high schools in Anyang City.The specific advises are as followings: reconstructing the physical education teaching system,enhancing students’ sports cognition,enhancing the teaching ability of physical education teachers,strengthening the construction of school sports facilities,and creating a good campus sports cultural atmosphere. |
