In April 2022,the "Compulsory Education Art Curriculum Standards(2022edition)" was promulgated,which put forward new requirements for the current basic music education in China.Among them,it focuses on the music discipline standards,highlighting the value orientation based on accomplishment and educating people with aesthetics as the core purpose.Meanwhile,the curriculum standards emphasize four core qualities,including aesthetic perception,artistic expression,creative practice and cultural understanding.It has brought a new round of teaching reform and exploration in the field of Chinese primary and middle school music education,and also urges every music teacher to think about the purpose and significance of music teaching from a more macroscopic and three-dimensional perspective,as well as how to realize comprehensive education in music classroom teaching,which has become an urgent problem for music teachers.The traditional music teaching concept and model is to carry out teaching activities with one class hour and one unit,which lacks the consideration of students’ overall development and fails to implement students’ core quality of art curriculum in daily teaching.The emergence of large unit teaching provides methods and ideas for front-line music teachers.It is a beneficial teaching exploration to implement large unit theme setting,teaching content selection,teaching goal setting and academic evaluation.This paper takes music teaching in junior high school as an example,through theoretical definition,questionnaire survey,data analysis,teaching design and implementation and other methods,deeply discusses how large unit teaching implements the core quality of art curriculum in daily music classroom teaching.Therefore,it provides some design ideas for junior high school music teachers.This research is divided into four parts: the first part,concept definition and theoretical basis research,based on the concept and theory to provide a basis for the development of large unit teaching.The second part,through the questionnaire survey and interview of music teachers and students in Jinniu District,Chengdu,to understand the status quo of music teachers’ teaching design,knowledge and application of large unit teaching design and the real situation of students’ music learning;Using the methods of summary and data analysis to find out the problems of junior high school music lessons.In the third part,based on the design goal of large unit teaching of junior high school music class under the background of subject core literacy,through the analysis of junior high school music teaching materials,the feasibility and necessity of large unit teaching are deeply studied to provide guidance for the current junior high school music class to carry out large unit teaching.The fourth part,based on the background of subject core literacy of junior high school music teaching design case of large unit,is implemented into specific music classroom,hoping to provide a reference for front-line music teachers to carry out large unit teaching.
