In July 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training on Students in Compulsory Education,which called for a "double reduction" in effectively reducing the excessive burden of homework and off-campus training on students in compulsory education.The "double reduction" policy sets out detailed requirements for improving the quality and quantity of homework,and poses an urgent challenge to practice.This study focuses on the tiered design of primary school mathematics homework,and investigates the current situation of the tiered design of primary school mathematics teachers’ homework through the survey research method,literature research method and case study method.The problems of the current tiered design of primary school mathematics homework are highlighted,mainly in the lack of tiered and innovative homework design,and the homework design is homogeneous and does not play the role of carrying on the top and starting the bottom.The reasons for these problems are at the school,teacher and family levels: schools are becoming increasingly strict in their management of teachers and attach more importance to teaching performance;teachers have to complete a variety of tasks in addition to their teaching duties and are unable to do so;and families are influenced by traditional educational concepts and feel that ’marks’ are the most important.This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the current situation of the layered design of primary school mathematics homework,analyse its problems and causes,and on this basis summarise the principles of the layered design of primary school mathematics homework in the context of "double reduction",i.e.the principles of purpose,science,development,inspiration,hierarchy and cooperation.The layered design of primary school mathematics homework must follow certain design objectives,i.e.to meet the training requirements of the new curriculum standards,the policy requirements of the "double reduction" policy,and the teachers’ teaching contents and objectives;the layered design of primary school mathematics homework in the context of "double reduction" must be reasonable The design of the assignment is based on a combination of written,oral and practical assignments,and is based on the design paths of self-editing,adaptation and selection,combined with a tiered assignment design evaluation scale,to construct a tiered assignment design model with four links: objectives-content-path-evaluation,and to apply this model to front-line teaching to test its scientific,rational and instructive nature.
