With the gradual promotion of quality education and the "double reduction" policy, optimizing homework management and promoting students’ overall development have become the direction that researchers and front-line teachers in the field of education are striving for.The "double reduction" policy has clearly defined the length of homework and the total amount of homework for students in compulsory education, which reduces students’ academic pressure and improves students’ learning efficiency while promoting students’ healthy and comprehensive development. In this paper,we study the design of graded homework based on the differences in students’ learning levels, and try to optimize the assignment and correction of homework,so that students can get the best homework that meets their ability level. This paper is dedicated to the practice of homework design to better fit students’ actual learning levels through teaching practice and related theories,to realize the combination of theory and practice, and to provide some references for front-line educators. To this end, this study is divided into the following parts. In the first part, the research background, research purpose and significance of this study are discussed, the research problem and method are elaborated, and the value and significance of mathematics homework and the research process of mathematics homework are discussed in the first and second chapters through literature analysis method. In the second part, based on the theories related to mathematics homework, the research plan is formulated and the questionnaire dimensions are determined according to the research content in the third chapter.A questionnaire survey is conducted on students’ mathematics homework at junior high school level, and through questionnaires and interviews with students and front-line teachers,a true and comprehensive understanding of the problems and doubts existing in the current homework assignment and correction process is obtained. In the third part,a comparative experiment of tiered homework is conducted in Chapter 4 for the experimental and control classes, and the relevant theories of some educational experts and suggestions of front-line teachers are incorporated into the design of tiered homework. The author takes "primary function" and "determination of triangle" in junior high school mathematics as examples for the design of the tiered homework, and puts the homework design into practice. In the fourth part,in the fifth chapter, after analyzing the results of the comparative experiments of layered homework and the related suggestions of students, the five principles of layered homework design and the optimization strategies of layered homework design are derived: clarifying the functions of homework and enhancing the hierarchy of homework;optimizing students’ layering and "rolling layered" homework layout strategy;improving the homework The strategy is to clarify the function of homework and enhance the hierarchy of homework;to optimize students’ stratification and "rolling stratification";to improve the way of homework correction and give play to students’ main role;to optimize the homework assessment strategy and promote students’ development;to standardize the management system of stratified homework and strengthen school supervision. In the fifth part, the author makes some suggestions for students, teachers and parents and some reflections on this study in the sixth chapter for the better implementation of tiered homework in the future. It is hoped that the research results of this study will provide reference for front-line teachers’ teaching.
