| In order to meet the needs of the times’ development,China has been carrying out new curriculum reform since 2001 to advocate strengthening the connection between curriculum and life,leading the students to actively participate in study and paying attention to the cultivation of students’ abilities in various aspects.The curriculum standards issued in 2022 explicitly propose to study geography useful for both life and lifelong development.The proposition direction of the high school entrance examination has also changed from memorizing knowledge to examining students’ comprehensive thinking and migration application.At the same time,the “double reduction” guideline printed and distributed by the General Office of the State Council in 2021 requires to reduce students’ homework and schoolwork burden.In this case,it is particularly important that how to change the classroom teaching mode to stimulate students’ interest,help them to build the knowledge system and effectively promote students’ meaningful learning so as to create a high-quality and efficient geography class.Based on the above background,the application of “advance organizer” in junior middle school’s geography classroom teaching is studied in this thesis.From the theoretical perspective,it can enrich the theoretical research of “advance organizer” in the geography teaching and provide new teaching ideas for the geography classroom teaching.From the practical perspective,it can promote students’ learning interest and ability,and provide reference for front-line teachers’ teaching practice.On the basis of sorting out the theoretical knowledge of “advance organizer”,the application condition of “advance organizer” is investigated in junior middle school’s geography teaching through interviews in the study.Starting from the principles,design process and application patterns of “advance organizer” applied in geography teaching,“advance organizer” applied to different contents is analyzed in this thesis in the seventh grade’s geography textbook in volume one with the people’s education edition and two specific cases are provided for reference.Moreover,in teaching practice,the function and effect of the “advance organizer” in teaching were verified through experiments.This thesis is divided into the following six parts:In the first part of introduction,the research background,research significance,research status at home and abroad as well as research methods and ideas are mainly introduced.In the second part,the concept,function,classification and theoretical basis of“advance organizer” are expounded.In the third part,through interviews with teachers,the application status and existing problems of “advance organizer” are analyzed in junior middle school’s geography teaching.The results show that teachers often unconsciously apply “advance organizer”in teaching,but they do not understand the corresponding theoretical knowledge,leading to the application of “advance organizer” in teaching without certain norms and procedures,thus failing to achieve the ideal effect.In the fourth part,the application of “advance organizer” in junior middle school’s geography teaching is analyzed from three aspects of application principle,design process and application patterns.According to the research,“advance organizer” should follow the following principles,namely,pertinence principle,elastic principle,the principle of reality,the principle of constructiveness and the student-based principle.The design of “advance organizer” in teaching should be carried out according to the process of clarifying teaching objectives--analyzing learning situation--analyzing textbook content--selecting the appropriate “advance organizer”.In the part of application patterns,Joyce’s view is adopted by dividing the application of “advance organizer” in geography teaching into three stages,that is,presenting advance organizer--proposing new learning tasks or materials--strengthening cognitive structure.Based on the above analysis,in the fifth part,two teaching cases are provided to demonstrate and analyze the application of different categories of “advance organizers”in teaching to provide reference for geography teachers.In the sixth part,the research on the function and effect of the application of“advance organizer” in junior middle school’s geography teaching is conducted through experiment.The experiment found that the application of “advance organizer” in teaching can have a positive promoting effect on students’ learning.It is beneficial for students to understand and remember the knowledge they have learned.And it can also promote students’ retention of knowledge.The application of “advance organizer” has different effects on students at different levels.For gifted and intermediate students,the application of “advance organizer” is beneficial for their memory and retention of learning content.For underachievers,the application of “advance organizer” is beneficial for their learning of new knowledgeAt the end of the study,the conclusions,innovations and deficiencies of the research are summarized and the application of “advance organizer” in junior middle school’s geography teaching is prospected. |
