"Advance organizer" and its application has attracted much attention since the concept was proposed by D.P. Ausubel, the educationist and psychologist of American in 1960. "Advance organizer" teaching strategy can erect a bridge between the old knowledge and the new knowledge to be learned, and this can also facilitate the students' comprehension of new knowledge and the consolidation of old knowledge.The basic chemistry concepts are very important for senior high school students. The teaching of chemistry concepts is always the difficult point and to focal point. This essay focuses on the introduction of "Advance organizer" into the teaching of chemistry concepts, making an exploration into some problems as followed: Whether the "Advance organizer" is beneficial for the teaching in senior high school? Whether the "Advance organizer" is beneficial for the teaching of chemistry concept in senior high school? Whether the "Advance organizer" is beneficial for all the students in senior high schools? The study chose two classes similar to each other in all parts through testing to carryout experiment in and compare. The teaching contents include: Extraction------theconcept on the skills of chemistry experiment; Amount-of-substance concentration ofB------the concept on chemical equivalent; Oxidation reaction and reductionreaction------the concept on substance transformation. SPSS 11.5 for windows has beenused to analyse the results of the tests which are carried out immediately after the teaching contents mentioned above and after a long period.Through investigation and research, the following conclusions can be arrived at: (l)The "Advance organizer" teaching strategy can facilitate the senior high students' comprehension of new knowledge and the consolidation of the old knowledge. This conclusion testifying the theory of "Advance organizer" made by Ausubel is correct.(2) The "Advance organizer" can benefit the comprehension of new knowledge to all students, especially to the poor students. But the effects of consolidation on poor students are not good. It's opposite to the supposing made by Ausubel.(3)The effects of "Advance organizer" on students are not relevant to the sex. (4)The "Advance organizer" teaching strategy can promote and maintain students'study achievement during the teaching of the concepts on the skills of chemistry experiment, chemical equivalent and stubstance eransfermation.
