In recent years,our country is attaching more and more importance to teenagers’ physical health and physical education.Rural physical education is committed to enhancing students’ physical and mental health,and is of great significance to promoting rural students’ healthy growth.However,the development of rural physical education is still facing a lot of difficulties.It is difficult to achieve the requirements in the national physical education standards at the present stage,which will affect the quality of rural students’ physical education to a certain extent.Since the CPC put forward the rural revitalization strategy in the report to the 19 th National Congress in order to solve the "three rural issues" related to the national economy and people’s livelihood,it has issued a series of policies,such as the Opinions on Implementing the Rural Revitalization Strategy,the Revitalization Plan for Teacher Education,and the Revitalization Plan for Accelerating the Revitalization of Rural Talents,which provide a solid policy guarantee for the development of rural education in China.In this paper,under the background of rural revitalization,the literature method,questionnaire survey,interview and other research methods are used to conduct in-depth research on the teachers’ teaching,students’ learning and physical education environment of 12 rural junior high schools in Puyang City,Henan Province,and analyze the problems existing in the development of physical education of rural junior high schools in Puyang City in the process of rural revitalization.Combined with the rural revitalization policy,this paper puts forward proposals and countermeasures to the existing problems,aiming at promoting the quality of physical education in rural Puyang City,promoting the physical health of rural children,cultivating their good sports habits,and pushing forward the development process of quality education in our country.The results of the research on the physical education teaching of rural junior middle schools in Puyang City are as follows:1.Physical education teachers in rural areas: Among the 12 rural schools surveyed,physical education teachers are mainly young and middle-aged males with college and undergraduate degrees and low salary.Teachers generally recognize their professional ethics and teaching ability but lack scientific research ability;2.The teaching situation of rural PE teachers: the aim of PE teaching is to focus on the learning of sports skills,seldom carry out theoretical courses,and take PE examination items as the main teaching content.There is a tendency of exam-oriented education;The physical education organization form is mainly class teaching and group teaching,which is convenient to manage students and save energy in class.Teaching methods mainly include explanation and demonstration,practice and correction,and circular practice,which tend to be traditional.3.Learning situation of students’ physical education: the main purpose of learning physical education is to exercise,learn physical education knowledge and skills and prepare for the physical education examination.More students than satisfied with the content learned in physical education and teachers’ teaching style,etc.,and they have less time and frequency to participate in extracurricular sports activities,low enthusiasm to participate in sports,and weak sports consciousness.4.Physical education environment of rural schools: In terms of sports venues and equipment,12 schools all have 300 ring tracks,whose materials are mainly cement and asphalt.Basketball and table tennis courts are the most adequately equipped,while equipment and venues for other events are scarce.In terms of school sports atmosphere,in the past three years,10 schools have held tug-of-war competitions,and only 2 schools have held sports meetings.Students’ participation in sports associations is still dominated by basketball and table tennis,while some students do not participate in any sports associations.Moreover,most teachers and students think that the atmosphere and teacherstudent relationship in sports class are not good.The initiative and enthusiasm of both teachers and students are adversely affected.Through the above research results,it can be found that there are deficiencies in the physical education of rural junior middle schools in Puyang City,which are mainly manifested in weak teachers,lack of funds,traditional and passive teaching and learning,and weak sports awareness of students.In order to effectively improve the development quality of physical education in rural junior middle schools in Puyang City,the author takes advantage of the national strategy of rural revitalization.The following solutions are put forward: to strengthen the ranks of teachers and improve their professional quality;Increase the school sports fund investment,improve the school sports infrastructure;Optimize PE teaching activities and establish multi-PE classroom;Develop sports characteristic items to enrich school sports culture;Strengthen students’ sports consciousness and set up correct sports values.
