The cultivation of self-confidence is of great significance to maintain the mental health of junior middle school students.As a basic unit of the school,class plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ self-confidence.This paper attempts to explore the role of class democratic management in the development of junior high school students’ self-confidence.This research uses the literature research method to analyze the democratic management class and confidence to cultivate inner link,In grade seven of PL school,students from two homogeneous classes,namely experimental class and control class,were selected as the research objects.The four elements of overall confidence,academic confidence,social confidence and body confidence of the students of the two classes were investigated respectively.On this basis,the experiment of cultivating confidence of junior high school students through class democratic management was carried out.The second questionnaire survey was conducted among the students of the two classes after one semester.Finally,through the analysis of experimental data and student interviews,the effect of confidence cultivation of junior high school students under the class democratic management was analyzed,and the improvement suggestions of confidence cultivation under the class democratic management were put forward.The author carried out the class democratic activities aimed at cultivating self-confidence in the experimental class,mainly from four aspects,namely,in the democratic system,in the independent learning,in the free and relaxed communication atmosphere,and in the aesthetic education.After the class democratic activities,the post-test results show that the class democratic management can promote the confidence level of junior middle school students in various dimensions to different degrees,but the effect on promoting the body confidence of junior middle school students is not significant.Based on the analysis of the results of the second questionnaire experiment and the interviews with students,the author puts forward some suggestions for improving the democratic management of the class.The suggestions are from three aspects: cultivating students’ self-confidence in different environments,improving their executive ability,and the teacher in charge should have a democratic style.Firstly,strengthen the relationship between home and school to jointly cultivate,integrate the class and school resources to jointly cultivate,students’ self-confidence to withstand the test of society.Secondly,improving implementation includes making instructions or requirements specific,constantly upgrading educational management methods,and mastering timely information and making adjustments.Thirdly,the head teacher should have the democratic style,including the head teacher should become an equal and special member of the class,and use more negotiation tone and less command tone and stand in the perspective of students.
