With the adjustment of the national conscription policy, the focus of conscription has gradually shifted to colleges and universities, and the structure of soldiers has also undergone tremendous changes.Due to the huge difference between the military and college environments, retired college students face a series of adaptation problems in the process of role change.Through literature research, questionnaire surveys,in-depth interviews and combined with my own experience, the author found that the learning adaptation problems faced by retired college students are the most prominent, which are mainly manifested in three aspects: the inability to keep up with the teaching progress, insufficient learning motivation, and weak ability to obtain learning resources.Guided by the theory of advantageous perspective and social support theory, this study adopts the method of combining qualitative and quantitative research, uses the mode of group work in social work to intervene, and helps group members discover learning problems, face learning difficulties, build learning confidence, and regain learning motivation through seven group activities, and then guide group members to self-adjust learning goals, supervise each other’s learning process, and consciously inherit learning experience. At the same time, the intervention effect of group work was evaluated through online follow-up visits, scale score comparison and group satisfaction survey.Practice has proved that the intervention of group work is conducive to further clarify the learning goals, explore their own advantages, find learning methods, improve the learning adaptability problems faced by retired college students, and then get rid of the learning dilemma. Finally, combined with the research conclusions, the suggestions for improving the learning adaptability of retired college students were expounded from four aspects:improving the collaborative working mechanism, formulating learning support policies, establishing learning support mechanisms, and stimulating endogenous motivation of learning.
