The issue of providing for the aged in rural areas is a major problem in the process of social development.In recent years,rural areas in China have accelerated their entry into an aging society,resulting in increasing pressure on elderly care.Family,community,institutional and other elderly care methods have been difficult to meet the current elderly care needs of rural elderly groups.The rural extremely poor elderly are the most vulnerable,special,and helpless elderly groups in society,with more and stronger elderly care needs than the general elderly,and are a major weakness that restricts the development of elderly care services.Mutual assistance for elderly care,as a new type of elderly care that lies between family and socialized elderly care,can mobilize resources from the rural extremely poor elderly themselves,their surroundings,and society,meet their respective elderly care needs through mutual assistance,and play a positive role in alleviating the elderly care pressure in rural areas,given the weakening of traditional elderly care functions and insufficient investment in the elderly care service system.Effective realization of mutual assistance for the elderly in rural areas requires the coordinated promotion of multiple fields,among which social work organizations play an irreplaceable professional force.This study focuses on the issue of old-age care for the extremely poor elderly in rural areas.Taking S Village,F Town as an example,first of all,it uses the literature research method to summarize and sort out the existing relevant literature,understand the latest research trends in academia,and grasp the significance and value of the study;Secondly,the unstructured interview method is used to conduct field research on the rural extremely poor elderly and their related personnel,collect objective and real relevant data in an all-round way,and analyze their main pension needs in terms of living environment,daily care,medical care,psychological comfort,etc;Finally,according to the main needs of the elderly,and under the guidance of the community theory and the empowerment theory,the team work method is adopted to carry out professional intervention on the mutual support of the rural extremely poor elderly,including the formulation of plans,the recruitment and selection of team members,the development of group activities,and the group evaluation,and the summary and reflection of the evaluation results.Through the professional intervention of the group work,it can be seen that building a mutual support platform for the rural extremely poor elderly can improve their mutual awareness and ability,narrow the distance between them,gradually integrate into the collective life,enable them to obtain a sense of self-efficacy and collective sense of belonging,solve their pension problems in mutual assistance,meet their pension needs,and effectively relieve the pressure of rural pension services.
