| According to the seventh population census data in 2020,China has a large elderly population and the aging process is constantly accelerating.Meanwhile, with the continuous development of urbanization,in order to seek better job positions and pursue a higher quality of life, more and more young adults are leaving rural areas to settle down and work in cities, and the number of left behind elderly people is increasing. In the situation where traditional family and institutional elderly care models are no longer able to meet the elderly care needs of rural elderly people,in order to solve the increasingly severe problem of population aging, various regions are actively exploring elderly care models that are in line with the actual situation of the region.Rural mutual assistance for elderly care is one of the new models explored in recent years. However, due to various reasons, when developing mutual assistance elderly care models in rural areas, various regions will always encounter some problems, the first of which is the weak mutual assistance awareness and low mutual assistance ability of rural elderly people. In response to this issue, some experts believe that professional intervention through social work can be used to cultivate the awareness of mutual assistance and elderly care among rural elderly people, stimulate their advantages and potential, and improve their mutual assistance ability.Currently, research on social work intervention in rural mutual assistance and elderly care mostly remains at the theoretical level, with very little practical research.Based on this, this study takes X Village,Liaocheng City,Shandong Province as an example.Guided by the theory of advantage perspective, empowerment theory, and group dynamics theory, and based on understanding the basic situation, elderly care needs, and mutual aid willingness of the elderly in X Village, the intervention goal is to cultivate their mutual aid awareness, improve their communication and coordination abilities, learning adaptability, emergency rescue abilities, and emergency response abilities,We designed eight activities in six units to explore feasible paths for social work to intervene in the cultivation of awareness and ability enhancement of rural mutual assistance elderly care. The group’s social work intervention in the cultivation of awareness and ability improvement of rural mutual assistance elderly care has achieved significant results.Through group activities, the trust relationship of mutual care and assistance among the elderly has been improved to a certain extent, helping them realize the importance of mutual assistance, cultivating mutual awareness, improving mutual assistance abilities, and developing mutual assistance behavior. However, there are also shortcomings such as a single social work method, the need to improve the professional level of social workers, and the difficulty in quantifying or even sustaining the effectiveness of activities. In response to these shortcomings, the author proposes corresponding improvement suggestions such as the comprehensive application of social work methods, improving the professional level and practical ability of social workers, optimizing evaluation methods, and establishing long-term management mechanisms,in order to better apply the theoretical methods of social work to the practice of mutual assistance in elderly care, and promote the mutual assistance elderly care model to take root and operate effectively in rural areas. |
