With the rapid development of economy and the acceleration of urbanization,a large number of rural labor choose to work in cities, becoming a special group in the city.As the number of migrant workers continues to increase, the children of migrant workers who follow their parents to the city have become more and more large. The children of migrant workers in cities have experienced changes in their living environment and academic environment, and many problems have appeared in their studies.Studies have shown that children of migrant workers have a low sense of academic self-efficacy.Low academic self-efficacy will directly affect academic performance and even bring potential risks to the healthy growth of children of migrant workers.Taking the children of migrant workers in Q Primary School in Nanjing City as the research object, this study used field research data to analyze the problems and causes of the academic self-efficacy of migrant workers’ children in Q Primary School, and then used social work methods to intervene and evaluate the effect of the intervention. The survey results show that the overall sense of academic self-efficacy of children of migrant workers in Q Primary School is low in learning ability self-efficacy and academic behavior self-efficacy.The reasons are that the children of migrant workers have a weak academic foundation, lack of correct cognition of self-learning ability, and lack of family education. And that schools do not pay enough attention to the children of migrant workers.Using the developmental model of group work, six children of migrant workers with low scores of academic self-efficacy were interfered to carry out the group activity of improving academic self-efficacy with the theme of " I can do it",and the design of“Hello! Small partner “,“I am really good”,“help each other in study”,“you can do it,so can I “,“I can control myself”,“Listen carefully in class “,“I have a good way to learn” and “Confidence in long voyage” eight group activities.Through the comparative analysis of the measurement scales before and after,it was found that the self-efficacy of learning ability and self-efficacy of learning behavior of the six group members had been improved, and the academic self-efficacy of the service objects had been improved.According to the feedback from the three aspects of group members, parents and class teachers, the group activity basically achieved the group goal and achieved a good intervention effect. This study reflects on the advantages and disadvantages of social work in improving the academic self-efficacy of children of migrant workers in cities and the role of social workers. The use of social work to intervene in the children of migrant workers’ academic self-efficacy has certain advantages. For example, social work focuses on the overall view, establishes an equal cooperative relationship with the service objects, attaches importance to the self-realization of the service objects, and emphasizes the individual initiative. But there are also some deficiencies, mainly reflected in the intervention by some objective factors, can not contact with the service object for a long time.At the same time, most of the reasons for the low academic selfefficacy of children of migrant workers in cities are related to the psychological level, and the research of social work on the psychological level is still insufficient compared with the professional psychological guidance. In addition, this study puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve the academic self-efficacy of children of migrant workers in cities, such as strengthening the training of social work team, attaching importance to family education, creating a good family atmosphere and setting up school consultation rooms for children of migrant workers in cities. |
