A good interest in physical education and learning helps children and adolescents to develop physically and mentally, and is of great significance to the improvement of children’s physical health, the enrichment of extracurricular physical culture, and the development of a lifelong awareness of physical education. After the introduction of documents such as "Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and the Burden of Out-of-School Training for Students in Compulsory Education",governments around the world have responded positively to the general requirement of strictly implementing the reduction of pressure and burden for students, and to the out-of-school training The implementation of this policy has created sufficient discretionary time for children, and how and where children use this discretionary time, and what effect it has on children’s physical and mental health, has become a The new problem. As school physical education teachers,we should use school physical education to guide students to make reasonable use of this discretionary time, transform students’ "passive physical education" into "active physical education",and effectively improve students’ interest in physical education.Artistic gymnastics is a sports program that combines sports and aesthetic education.Artistic gymnastics course not only meets the development concept of "health first",but also meets the needs of girls for dance, art and aesthetics, and can promote the development of students’ core literacy and make the integration of physical education, mental education and health education. This paper takes the "double reduction" policy as the background to study the influence of artistic gymnastics teaching on children’s interest in physical education. In order to enhance the authenticity, accuracy and validity of the experiment, the average age of the subjects was 6-7 years old,and they were divided into a group of20 students in the experimental class and a group of 20 students in the control class. The teaching content, teaching plan, teaching schedule and lesson plan of the control class and the experimental class were designed by combining the age, physical and mental characteristics, teaching objectives, teaching principles and teaching methods of the children. After 16 weeks of teaching practice, the questionnaires were administered in four dimensions: sports participation, positive interest in physical education, negative interest in physical education, and independent learning, using the "Evaluation Scale of Primary School Students’ Interest in Physical Education Learning" developed by Professor Wang Xiaozan, and the data obtained before and after the experiment in the two classes were tallied in Excel and subjected to paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test using Spss26 software. The main findings of the effect of artistic gymnastics teaching on children’s interest in physical education were obtained as follows.(1)School physical education was transformed from "passive physical education" to "active physical education" with the intervention of artistic gymnastics.(2)After the experiment, artistic gymnastics teaching is more effective in improving children’s interest in physical education compared with traditional physical education classes.(3)There is no significant difference between the negative interest in physical education and the negative interest in physical education of children before and after the experiment(P>0.05),and the scores are higher and the negative interest in physical education is lower, which means that children are not excluded from physical education activities.
