| Parents,as enlighteners and significant companions,are incumbent on the education of their children.Being involved in education,whether at home or at school,plays a significant role in the growth and development of children.At present,various countries and regions pay great attention to involving parents in education.Most of the relevant studies focus on intellectual education and moral education.In the context of the "Easing the burden of excessive homework and off-campus tutoring for students undergoing compulsory education"(Double Reduction)policy,and the promulgation of the "Law of the People’s Republic of China on Sports(2022 Revision)",this study takes physical education as the starting point,and seven primary schools in X district in Hangzhou as the research object.The study focuses on the dilemmas including parents in physical education,and proposes strategies to promote the current situation.This study is organized around three points: the analysis on the strengths and dilemmas of involving parents in elementary physical education of the primary schools in District X,the causes of the dilemmas,and the promotion strategies.In particular,this paper can be divided into three parts: 1.By means of descriptive analysis methods,this paper introduces the general situation of how the parents in District X involved in physical education;2.By using the statistical method of one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA),combing with the content of the interviews,the current situation of parental involvement and the reasons for it are analyzed;3.The corresponding promotion strategies are given from three levels: family,school and society.According to the findings of this study,following phenomena are founded: 1.After the " Double Reduction" policy,parents in X district of Hangzhou are more aware of the importance of participating in physical education.However,participation of parents in physical exercises and physical education itself is insufficient.There is still much space to be more supportive in children’s physical resources and improve physical education environment.2.After the " Double Reduction" policy,with the increment of after-school time,parents should spend more time on physical education.3.Parents are not active enough in physical education,and the content of their participation is rather lopsided.Moreover,there is a lack of two-way communication between parents and schools.4.Parents are not clear about the boundary of their authorities and responsibilities in education.5.The structure of parent functions is not balanced.With mothers accounting for 69.6% of the parent functions,the education rely on motherhood too much.In this paper,several strategies to promote participation of parents in physical education in elementary schools are presented: 1.At the level of parents,they should clarify their responsibilities,change their perceptions,realize two-way communication with the school,strive to improve themselves,and balance the functional structure of their family.2.At the level of schools,they should correctly position the functions of the school,establish a sound school organization and system,and optimize the structure of the physical education curriculum.3.At the level of society,policy support should be provided to help families in difficulty,community resources should be supported,attention should be paid to teachers and compensate accordingly. |
