Research On Case Management Services For Urban Children In Distres

Children are not mature in their physical and psychological development,and children in difficult circumstances cannot have a good living environment and development opportunities like normal children due to inadequate parental supervision,poor family economic ability or their own disability.If we do not pay attention to and intervene in time,children in difficult situations will be more prone to deviant behavior,which will not only affect their own development,but also seriously affect the stability of social order.The universality of children in difficult situations and the seriousness of their problems have made this group highly concerned and valued by the government.The country has also gradually improved its legislation on the protection of children in difficult situations.Under the initiative of the government,more social forces have been introduced to participate in the protection of children in difficult situations,and social work institutions have become the backbone of providing services for children in difficult situations.This study is based on the author’s internship experience at the social work station in B Street.After finding out the current situation of children in distress in the jurisdiction and conducting needs assessment,the child in distress changed from a potential service object to a formal case owner.According to the ecosystem theory and social support network theory,small Y was estimated from multiple levels,and it was found that it was faced with multiple dilemmas such as poor academic performance,single entertainment mode,tense parent-child relationship,poor family economic capacity and inadequate daily care and supervision.Therefore,in the process of providing case management services for the case owner,Xiao Y and his family,through helping Xiao Y link resources such as community peer groups,community canteens,community social organizations,college student volunteers,schools and social policies,as well as with the help of social workers themselves,to meet their survival and development needs,and achieved certain results.The findings in this study are as follows: Firstly,children in difficult situations have difficulties in terms of economy,regulation,education,and social participation;Secondly,ecosystem theory and social support theory are important theoretical foundations for serving children in urban distress;Finally,it is feasible and advantageous to apply case management services to the rescue of children in difficult situations.However,due to the complexity of the service object itself,ethical dilemmas arising from dual relationships,conflicts between the self-determination of minor case owners and paternalism,weak ability of social workers to link and integrate resources,and insufficient continuity of case management services due to the high turnover rate of social workers,case management services still have a long way to go.
