Children are the future and hope of a country, wether they can grow healthily or not isvery important.Since conducting China’s reform and opening-up policy and with thedevelopment of economy and social transformation, the problem of street children hasbecome an inevitable thing.Has been enacting lots of laws, China has been giving greatimportance to the protection of juvenile.Among all these protections, saving street childrenhas become more and more important. But because of China’s vast territory and large regionaldifferences among the politics, economy and culture some difficulties has arisen during theprocess of implementation of the some policy. Many studies show that the intervention ofsocial work can solve the current problems effectively. Therefore, this article chooses the professional social work as the perspective and thestreet children in one of the assistance stations of L city as the case to conduct the research.Meanwhile, we take the two files“Helping homeless children to go home,2012”and “Helpinghomeless children back to campus,2013” as our researching background. Additionally, withthe help of the government departments and relevant institutions we want to help the streetchildren to establish the correct values of his life and his future, the new restoration of hisconfidence, and finally go back to the campus of his mother school. In this way, we want to alter the current service idea in the assistance station, especiallyfrom the rigid and single concept to the active and multiply one. This article believes that ifthe social workers want to help the street children, they need to play themselves as many roles, namely, a listener, a friend and sometimes a guidance. What’s more, to lead the street childrento act and help themselves initiatively is much more important.
