As a large number of special groups of kindergarten teachers who have not received systematic professional education before service,non-preschool education professional teachers shoulder the responsibility of preschool education development,but also face the problem that their competence level needs to be improved.Therefore,this study investigates,studies and analyzes the competency level of kindergarten teachers in non-preschool education majors,and explores corresponding measures on the basis of grasping the competency dilemma faced by this group and its causes,in order to improve the competency level of kindergarten teachers in non-preschool education majors.Through literature analysis,interview and qualitative analysis software,this study constructs five competency dimensions of kindergarten teachers who are not specialized in preschool education: teacher ethics,professional knowledge,professional ability,motivation and personal traits.According to the self-compiled Questionnaire on the Competence of Kindergarten Teachers in Non-Preschool education majors,the current competency of 178 teachers in some non-preschool education majors in N City was investigated.The survey results show that the overall competence level of non-preschool education professional kindergarten teachers is good,but in the dimension of professional knowledge,general knowledge and knowledge of early childhood development are not good,basic skills in the dimension of professional ability are lacking,and self-efficacy in the dimension of personal characteristics needs to be enhanced.Based on the analysis of interview data,the reasons for the competency problems of kindergarten teachers in non-preschool education majors are summarized as three points from the perspectives of professional knowledge,professional ability and personal characteristics:(1)the lack of knowledge learning driving force and learning support;(2)The kindergarten has low skill requirements and single training content and form;(3)It is difficult for teachers to accumulate successful experience and negative self-cognition.Based on the analysis of the problems and their causes,this study puts forward the strategies to promote the competence improvement of kindergarten teachers in non-preschool education majors:(1)improve the driving force and provide learning support to enrich the knowledge reserve of teachers;(2)Pay equal attention to improving skill requirements and meeting training needs to improve teachers’ basic skills;(3)Accumulation of successful experience and grasp of positive attribution complement,strengthen teachers’ sense of self-efficacy.
