The Guidelines for Kindergarten Instruction states that ’ kindergartens are required to be responsive to the combination of teaching and safeguarding,giving precedence to the protection of the lives,the health and the security of infants’ ’.The Regulations on Employment in Kindergartens state that " Pre-schools shall raise the standard of instruction in accordance with the features and norms of the physical development of young pupils,and assist them in their sound intellectual and moral upbringing".The Occupational Criteria for Childcare Specialists call for the provision of a holistic education in the ethical,spiritual and physical aspects of childhood care,accompanied by specialist expertise,aptitude and manner.This entails educators who take into account the unique aspects of children’s psychological and emotional development in achieving a balance between teaching and protecting,i.e.integrating education and safeguarding,and combining protection and pedagogy.Particular attention ought therefore to be devoted to nursery teachers’ competencies in matters of child-rearing,which have a decisive impact on the mental and emotional development of small children.It is essential to investigate the level of competency of kindergarten teachers in childcare,to diagnose issues,causes and to formulate countermeasures.This report is split into the sections listed below.Chapter 1 introduction:mainly describes the research contexts,implications,concept definition and literature review of the essay.Chapter 2 on research design:describes the objectives,elements,ideology,appr oaches,targets and research instruments of the study.Chapter 3 An analysis of the status of nursery teachers’ parenting proficiency:the outcome of the research indicates that kindergarten teachers’ competency in nursery care in different regions of Henan Province is at a moderate to superior level,which is generally not high,and the distribution of each dimension is uneven.Chapter 4 Issues and causes of kindergarten staff competencies in childcare:The major issues are: lack of disciplinary knowledge,weak health administration skills,implicit separation of instruction and learning,low capacity to manage health and security,lack of commitment to child care,low parenting capacity,weaker psychological characteristics,poor ability to recognise children’s emotions,lack of professional initiative of teachers affected by the management philosophy of the school.The causes are based on four sources: Institute,government,kindergartens,and teachers themselves.Chapter 5 proposes countermeasures for kindergarten teachers’ nursery competency:First of all,the universities should pay attention to the training of preschool education professional nursery courses.Develop courses related to childcare scientifically to achieve equal emphasis on childcare knowledge and professional skills;In secondly,the governments should place more emphasis on and regulate nursery training.Improve the teacher admission system and the special training as well as assessment regimes for childcare;Once again,kindergartens require enhanced post-vocational training and the establishment of supervision and assessment mechanisms.Follow the philosophy of integrated schooling and do not segregate teachers and staff;Teachers should then transform the concept of teaching over conservation,enrich their knowledge base in conservation,enhance their practical intelligence and establish the concept of lifelong learning;Finally,society has to respect and appreciate the cause of early childhood education and give it its support and incentives.Chapter 5:The major points are the conclusions of the study,the gaps in the studies and the perspectives.
