A Practical Study On Case Work Intervention For Children In Difficulty

In the process of social development,the problems of children in distress at different levels are increasingly prominent,and their security tasks are relatively arduous.In recent years,assistance has been implemented by government for children in distress through the purchase of social work services,and the intervention of social work has achieved initial results.However,the model of social work intervention in the relief services for children in distress has not yet formed.In this paper,Xiao Yu,a child with difficulties in G Town,is taken as the case,According to social support theory and psychosocial treatment model,this paper is used social work research methods such as literature research,interview,participation observation,case study,and other methods.The case work service model is used to intervene in the multiple dilemmas faced by clients.First of all,relevant data is collected by the author in the form of talks,sorted out,analyzed,and elaborated the research background and significance of the problem of children in difficult situations,summarized relevant literature by searching existing data,further clarified the research ideas and methods,theoretical basis,and defined relevant concepts.Secondly,in the process of concrete practice,the problems of the client are defined,the needs of the client are estimated,and the problems of the client in physiology,psychology,learning,interpersonal communication,and other aspects are found.Combined the social support theory and psychosocial treatment model,the advantage perspective theory,and from the aspects of the client himself,family,school and community,the client is helped: improve their self-confidence and change their wrong cognition;Link resources to improve family economic conditions;Strengthen the responsibility of family guardianship and build a two-way communication channel between the case owner and the guardian;Link social resources and improve interpersonal skills through group activities.After the intervention,the service process and effect were evaluated.The evaluation showed that the case owner had made positive changes in the aspects of self-confidence improvement,self-cognition,family support,school support,social interaction and so on.Although this case service process has achieved some results,there are still many shortcomings,such as: low recognition of the social workers by the service objects;The client’s right to self-determination is ignored;Social workers lack practical experience.
