The aging problem is a prominent social problem in the contemporary era.How to provide better old-age care services for the elderly and improve life happiness and satisfaction has become the goal of joint efforts of all sectors of society. Most of the traditional rural areas are accustomed to home-based care.Although in modem soc iety, some elderly people choose institutional care, but subject to various factors, the stage of institutional care is still focused on the material level of service for the provision of pension services In fact, with the improvement of social and economic level, people’s demand for spiritual level is increasing, which requires pension institutions to further improve the level of spiritual support while improving material services. In this study, the spiritual support of the elderly in the L village pension comprehensive service center was selected.Through in-depth research,on the basis of obtaining first-hand information,in view of the lack of respect for the personality of the elderly, the lack of emotional comfort support, the lack of attention to mental health, and the single source of achievement and value, the ERG theory and social support theory were used to analyze the reasons. At the same time, the intervention is carried out around the needs of the elderly in the four aspects of respect, interpersonal relationship, emotion and growth. The results show that social work intervention in the problem of inadequate spiritual support for the elderly in the L-village elderly integrated service center has some effect, and can better meet the spiritual needs of the elderly, while enhancing the social network of the elderly group can also improve the quality of elderly services. And after summarizing and reflecting, the author proposes suggestions for further development of spiritual support for the elderly in rural areas. The author believes that the problem of sp iritual support for the elderly is a long-term process that cannot be solved by short-term social work interventions alone. Therefore,it is necessary for all social forces to act jointly and to provide comprehensive treatment in order to provide better quality services for the elderly groups.
