Research On Social Work Practice Of Spiritual Comfort Services For The Elderly Under The Background Of Epidemic Prevention And Control

Institutional endowment has gradually become a pension choice for more and more elderly people and their families.The basic material needs of the elderly living in pension institutions can be satisfied,but the spiritual needs are relatively insufficient.At the beginning of 2020,a sudden novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak spread rapidly around the world,seriously affecting economic and social development as well as People’s Daily work and life.Under the requirements of epidemic prevention and control policies,nursing homes implement closed management and strictly control the entry and exit of nursing home staff.Prevention and control measures not only ensure the safety of the elderly,but also aggravate the spiritual comfort of the elderly.Based on the social ecosystem theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs theory,this paper collected data and analyzed the spiritual needs and spiritual comfort of the elderly in G nursing home under the background of epidemic prevention and control through semi-structured interview and participatory observation.In addition,strategies for the mental needs of the elderly in social work intervention institutions under the background of epidemic prevention and control are summarized.Study found that older people there are "emotional" "interpersonal needs" "entertainment demand" to "knowledge demand" and "self-actualization needs" spiritual needs,from the elderly these two aspects of the subjective and the objective analysis on the cause of the elderly spiritual needs,and institutional demand and status quo of social workers for the elderly,Spiritual comfort services will be provided to the elderly from various levels,including the elderly themselves,their families,peer groups and pension institutions,to effectively meet the spiritual needs of the elderly during the epidemic,enrich their institutional life and improve their quality of life.However,there are still difficulties in the process of social work intervention,so this paper puts forward optimization suggestions from the following three aspects: first,integrate professional methods to improve multi-level spiritual comfort services;Second,to improve the quality of personnel to meet the spiritual comfort of the elderly to improve personnel security;Third,strengthen the capacity building of social workers.
