The Study On The Spiritual Solace Of The Aged In Pension Institution Involved By Group Work

With the economic development of our country and the enhancement of people's living standard,the needs provided for the aged changed from single material needs to material and spiritual needs.The demand of the elderly choosed to live in pension institutions is raising day by day,it has become an important part of social work to pay attention to and satisfied their spiritual solace of the elderly.Selecting the eldly people who live in J pension agency as the research target,the author updated the cultural and recreational practices,enhanced the interpersonal capacitys,constructed the platform from their inner contact,exploited that the available resources and substance in the institution at present for the eldly by group work.Thought in participatary observation methed and interview methed,the author founded that the deficiency of the pension agency's spirtual consolation to the old.and the eldly have strongly thirst for cultural amusement,interpersonal interaction,emotional sustain and psychology solace.Therefore,it is of practical significance to explore the spiritual consolation of the older in the pension agenciey involved in the group work.Then the author pointed out a serise of theories,containing Maslow's Hierarchy of needs Theory,Social sustain Theory and Selection of Optimal Compensation Theory to require spirtual consolation of the eldly.By the means of group social work,the study designed seven group activities,then carried on process assessment and outcome assessment of the panel' activities.The study used group activity,group mood changes,and life and practicality of group activities as indicators in the process assessment and used Team members participation,target achievement,group satisfaction and worker effectiveness as indicators in the outcome eveluation,then used these indicators to measure changes between before and after intervention in group activities.This paper educed that mental comfort needs of the old lived in pension institution have acquired,cultural amusement needs have met,the interpersonal capacitys between the old person have improved,mutual support ability within older persons have formated.Combinded pre-intervention and post-intervention performance and eveluation,the paper pointed out that group work was significant to meet the the needs who lived in J pension institution.Finally,the paper sumed up the spiritual comfort of the elderly and put forward suggestions.
