| With the development of China’s modern economy, migrant workers have become a product of the urban-rural dichotomy, and most farmers have no time to take care of their children off-site,so the group of young people left behind in rural areas continues to expand, and their healthy growth is becoming an issue that society needs to pay more and more attention to.Most of the young people left behind in rural areas are brought up by intergenerational parents, and the lack of parental companionship and care for a long time inevitably leads to psychological, emotional and behavioural problems in the process of growth. If they are not given timely attention and guidance, they are likely to develop deviant behaviour and even become delinquent. In this paper,a case study of a 17-year-old boy,Xiao W,from village X in county N,province A,was conducted with rural left-behind youths. From the perspective of the ecosystem theory of social work, through the case interview method and observation method,we understand the main deviant behaviours of rural left-behind children and analyse the comprehensive factors affecting them, and apply social work theories and methods to assist in their correction.Firstly,we analyse the social environment, family relationships, interpersonal relationships with peer groups and the actual situation of the clients themselves;secondly,we summarise the manifestations of deviant behaviour and the harmful effects of deviant behaviour of rural left-behind youths through field observations, and then apply the ecosystem theory to intervene in each case to analyse the causes of deviant behaviour at the macro, meso and micro levels of the clients themselves. Then,we communicate with the clients and their families to reach a consensus, provide counselling to the clients, and make use of the support from the environment, family and peer groups to help the clients gradually correct their deviant behaviour, change their wrong self-perceptions,enhance their willingness to correct, and maintain and consolidate the effectiveness of correcting their deviant behaviour. The author’s recommendations for correcting deviant behaviour are summarised in the application of ecosystemic theory to case interventions with rural left-behind youth.Through the study of case interventions,I found that it is necessary to correct the deviant behaviour of rural left-behind youths,as the existence of deviant behaviour worries their families and hinders their own development, and may even lead to the development of delinquent behaviour and endanger the social order if they are not properly guided and corrected for a long time.In the analysis of the causes of the deviant behaviour of rural left-behind youth,it is found that the influence of all levels of the ecosystem and the support of all levels can make the rural left-behind youth have a strong motivation to correct, and the process of correction and the consolidation and maintenance of the correction results should play a good role in the positive influence of the social environment at the macro level, the support and supervision of peer groups and families at the meso level, and the objective positive self-cognition at the micro level. The role of the power of objective positive self-cognition at the micro level. |
