In 2022,China’s Internet penetration rate is 73.0% Thus,it can be seen that the influence of the Internet on social groups has penetrated into all aspects of education,life and work.Left-behind children,because of their young age and not fully mature physical and mental development,are easily disturbed and influenced by external social factors,and once they are addicted to the Internet,it not only seriously affects their physical and mental health,but also affects their family relationships and brings hidden dangers to the society.Therefore,social work needs to timely intervene in the problem of Internet addiction in order to promote the positive and healthy growth of the clients.In this study,we used a casework approach to intervene in the problem of Internet addiction among left-behind children,taking Xiao A from Wanfeng Village Middle School,Yujing Town,Qianshan City,Anqing City,Anhui Province,as an example,in order to help the caseworker quit Internet addiction and grow up better.During this period,the author conducted research on the left-behind children in Wanfeng village through questionnaire,observation method,scale measurement method and interview method.Through the questionnaire,the author investigated the situation of left-behind children in Wanfeng village,the percentage of left-behind children with Internet addiction,the manifestation and influence of Internet addiction;through the interview,the author understood the basic Internet addiction status and degree of the clients,and combined with the literature method to summarize the manifestation of Internet addiction among left-behind children and the causes of its formation.It was found that the manifestation of Internet addiction problem of left-behind children mainly reflected in using the Internet for too long,becoming grumpy and having conflict in their hearts(blaming themselves for their Internet behavior on the one hand,and having difficulty in letting go of the Internet on the other hand),etc.The client’s Internet addiction problem led to parent-child relationship tension,indifferent classmate relationship,and boredom in school.By formulating a plan with the client,using social support theory to expand the client’s social network,cognitive behavioral theory to correct the client’s cognitive bias,and upholding professional values,we provided services to the client in three stages and twelve sessions to help the client solve the problem;finally,we verified the effectiveness of the improvement with the help of process evaluation and outcome evaluation.The evaluation found that through the social worker’s intervention,the client had successfully quit Internet addiction,improved family relationship,improved classmate relationship,and gradually improved grades.Finally,the author summarizes and reflects on this practice and makes feasible suggestions to provide some reference for solving the problem of Internet addiction among left-behind children. |
