With the acceleration of urban development in China, more and more urban fringe areas have been included in the urban scope, and a large number of "village to house" communities have emerged.Their most prominent characteristics are strong personnel mobility and high heterogeneity. The relatively low cost of living brings people from all over the world to gather in "village to house" communities. These migrant populations move from acquaintance society to an almost completely unfamiliar society, and problems such as weakened adaptation functions, difficulties in accessing resources, and obstacles in exercising rights make them more likely to encounter difficulties in interacting with the environment. From the perspective of social work, this article aims to use community social work methods to promote the community integration of migrant populations in the "village to house" community, meet their needs for good interaction with the environment in the inflow area, and achieve the goal of improving their ability to adapt to the environment and obtain resources, living a normal life in the inflow area, exercising their rights, and exerting their self-worth.The object of this study,D community,as a typical "village to house" community, has a large number of migrant population.Through questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews,it was found that there are certain difficulties in integrating the population from both inside and outside the community into the community, which are manifested in the phenomenon of unfamiliarity with language, customs, and behavior at the cultural level, and homogenization of social interaction and weak social support at the behavioral level,At the organizational level, there are situations of "marginalization" and low level of community participation in community management. At the psychological level, there are phenomena of blurred identity and lack of sense of belonging. There is a need for life adaptation, interpersonal communication, community participation, and psychological belonging. Therefore, the D Community Neighborhood Community Project aims to promote the integration of migrant populations into the community, using community social work methods, based on social integration theory and empowerment theory, and adopting a regional development model,to empower the migrant population in the community at four levels.By familiarizing the migrant population with local languages and customs, establishing civilized community norms for individual empowerment, building communication platforms and connecting networks for interpersonal empowerment,Building a volunteer service platform, cultivating community social organizations for structural empowerment, expanding resident participation channels, and enhancing community participation to promote cultural, behavioral, organizational, and psychological integration, ultimately achieving the goal of promoting community integration.Research has found that, firstly, empowerment at four levels can effectively promote the integration of migrant populations into the community. After project intervention,it can promote cultural and behavioral adaptation of migrant populations, significantly increase the frequency of interaction with local residents and communities, increase the proportion of joining community social organizations, significantly increase the participation of migrant populations in the community, and strengthen their sense of belonging to the community. The migrant population actively participates in various community activities and contributes to community construction. From the original bystanders and neglected,to the current participants and practitioners, the sense of community belonging and identity is effectively enhanced, and community integration is achieved from four aspects: culture, behavior, organization, and psychology.Secondly, the community integration of migrant populations is a long-term undertaking that requires the participation of multiple forces from the government, communities, social work institutions, and social workers. At the same time, integrated social work services should be carried out, combining case studies, groups, and communities to provide targeted, wide coverage, and deep service level integrated social work services to migrant populations. Finally, from the perspective of social capital theory,it can also provide practical reference for community integration.By increasing the social capital of migrant populations, promoting trust and mutual expectations among community members, establishing mutually beneficial and supportive relationships, enhancing community responsibility and belonging, and ultimately achieving community integration in the destination. |
