Research On Cultivation Of Craftsmanship Among College Students

College students are the builders and successors of the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.Therefore,it is important to cultivate the professional skills of college students as well as the inherent quality of craftsmanship spirit.This paper has fully absorbed the relevant theories of the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit among college students including The Marxist theory of labor,The Theory of Combining Labor and Craftsmanship Spirit in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,Educational Psychology Theory and Career Development Theory.Based on these theories,this paper constructs a general model for the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit including the sub-model of the relationship between self-identity and craftsmanship,the sub-model of the relationship between educational environment and craftsmanship,the sub-model of the relationship between motivation and craftsmanship,and the sub-model of the relationship between innovation and craftsmanship.Based on the above theories and models,a survey questionnaire was designed and conducted in six universities in Guangdong Province,and descriptive analysis,difference analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis were carried out on the survey data.Meanwhile,interviews were conducted with teachers in different positions in six colleges and universities.The results of the study show that: firstly,there is a positive relationship between self-identity and craftsmanship spirit,and college students with high self-identity are more inclined to cultivate and demonstrate craftsmanship spirit.Secondly,the educational environment has a positive influence on the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit,and a good educational environment helps cultivate students’ craftsmanship spirit.Thirdly,there is a positive relationship between students’ motivation level and craftsmanship spirit,and students with high motivation level are more likely to develop and display the spirit of craftsmanship,showing a higher pursuit of excellence,persistence and responsibility.Fourth,there is a positive influence of pioneering and innovation on the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit,and students with high levels of pioneering and innovation are more able to better adapt to the fast-changing market and technological environment.Fifth,the mean scores of male students and female students in the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit in the four dimensions do not differ significantly in general.Sixth,in terms of the mean scores of majors,most students in science,medicine and agriculture have higher scores in the four dimensions of craftsmanship spirit than those in humanities and social sciences.In terms of grades,senior students perform relatively better in the sub-model dimensions of self-identity,innovation and craftsmanship spirit;freshmen students have higher scores in the sub-model dimensions of educational environment and personal motivation and craftsmanship spirit.This study proposes suggestions for the cultivation of craftsmanship spirit among college students as follows.Firstly,at the policy level,improve the top-level design.Secondly,at the university level,optimize and improve the educational environment.Thirdly,at the social level,create an atmosphere conducive to enhancing individual motivation.Finally,at the individual level,strengthen college students’ self-identity.
