The college stage is both a "weaning" period from high school and a transition period to a higher stage for college freshmen and is accompanied by their physiological and psychological fluctuations.Due to the "delocalization" of both the natural geographic environment and the original social relationships, college freshmen in their early adulthood need to cope with the multiple pressures formed by the instinctive impulses of adolescence and the external social demands of adulthood, which often lead them to a developmental instability crisis. The dislocation of internal tensions makes some psychologically fragile college freshmen more prone to internal and external risk factors, which can shackle their healthy physical and mental development.Resilience is a breakthrough for college freshmen to cope with stress and challenges as an ability to make constructive behaviors when they encounter unfavorable environment and help them recover to their original state quickly. In this study, the whole group sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 3344 undergraduate freshmen in School A in Wuhu City to grasp the overall resilience status of freshmen in School A.Descriptive statistics and difference analysis were conducted on the factors affecting the resilience of freshmen in the university.Through semi-structured interviews,we analyzed the characteristics of low resilience freshmen, such as low optimism, lack of strength and resilience, and selected 8 freshmen with low resilience and willing to participate in group work.Based on resilience theory, strengths perspective and social learning theory, six sessions of group activities were designed with the objectives of helping group members to correctly perceive and manage their emotions, enhance their self-efficacy,improve their communication skills and set reasonable career plans.Afterwards, the group intervention was carried out from three dimensions of resilience: first,to cultivate optimism by regulating the bias of college freshmen’s perception of emotions;second,to enhance the group members’ self-efficacy through observation and learning to stimulate strength;third,to guide the group members to clarify their career plans, face their strengths and enhance their resilience by using reinforcement.Combined with social learning theory, the group members are guided to use observational learning to help college freshmen recognize the stress and difficulties in life situations and explore and stimulate the potential of the clients. While recognizing the internal and external protective factors, the group will be able to communicate with the protective factors on their own and achieve positive interaction, which will ultimately lead to resilience enhancement. At the end of the group service,on the basis of process evaluation and outcome evaluation, the paper added self-evaluation of social workers and interviews of group members to realize the dual subject-object nature of evaluation content and evaluation parties. The results showed that through the design and implementation of group work, the optimism, strength and resilience of group members were significantly improved, and they had better resilience cultivation effects.
