Caring,a widely talked about topic in the 21 st century,is not only the basis of how people get along with each other,but also of education.Nell Noddings’ educational theory that everyone should care for others and should be cared for by others has made caring education popular in the field of education.This is especially true in primary education due to the physiological and psychological developmental peculiarities of primary school children.Many scholars have begun to actively explore whether the application of caring in education and teaching has had a positive impact on teachers and students,and on teaching effectiveness.However,few scholars have conducted research on caring behaviour in the classroom in primary physical education.Many policies and documents involving physical education in primary and secondary schools have been promulgated,and relevant laws and regulations are being further improved.However,for primary physical education,laws and regulations alone are not enough;the value of caring education deserves to be taken seriously,so it is necessary to conduct research on the classroom caring behaviour of primary physical education teachers.This study uses the theory of caring education and the theory of humanistic care as the theoretical basis;By sorting out "caring","caring behaviour" and "teacher caring behaviour",the concept of "physical education teachers’ classroom caring behaviour" is defined."By summarizing the content,types,specific expressions,influencing factors and functions of teachers’ caring behaviours at home and abroad,the dimensions and specific expressions of teachers’ caring behaviours in the classroom established in this study were effectively sorted out.The primary dimensions of primary school PE teachers’ caring behaviour were identified as due diligence,supportiveness and inclusiveness through an expert questionnaire,and a total of 24 secondary indicators were established.The teacher questionnaire and the student questionnaire were developed using the same latitude to facilitate cross-evidence;the observation method was used to record the caring behaviours implemented by the PE teachers in the PE classroom observing the reactions of the students when they are in primary school PE classroom for the study;the interview method was used to further interview the teachers and students on some of the issues identified during the classroom observation to understand the inner thoughts of the teachers and students.As a result of our research,we found that the current state of caring behaviour in primary PE teachers’ classrooms was that most of the primary school PE teachers believed that they had implemented classroom caring behaviour with their students,but only some of them recognised it;through further research,we found that the specific problems and reasons were: teachers did not fully understand students’ physical conditions before class,teachers did not pay attention to students’ individual differences and teach them according to their needs,teachers did not properly deal with In order to improve the classroom caring behaviour of primary school physical education teachers,the following points are proposed: firstly,teachers’ ability should be improved and a caring teacher-student relationship should be built;secondly,schools should create a caring environment for physical education teachers;at the same time,students should strengthen their knowledge of caring education;and finally,a good social atmosphere and public opinion should be created.
